Wolves 1-0 West Ham: Verdict Thread

Adama should have passed. I’m not sure how he can’t know Raul is too his right (I’m sure he was shouting him too). The right thing to do is fake the shot and then instead slip it down the outside to Raul. That way you commit the defender and gives Raul more time.

But he doesn’t pass it because he’s either unaware or desperate to score to prove a point. Particularly when he knows he’s ran half the pitch and he sees his name in lights. Setting up 2-0 would have proven more of a point…

Although I have seen him massively Overhit simple 5 yard balls like that so we probably wouldn’t have scored anyway.

After 12 matches last season we had 17 points and had just two draws to our name . We had though been beaten heavily by West Ham and Liverpool and conceded 3 at home to City . Picked up wins away to Sheffield , Leeds , Arsenal , home wins versus Palace and Fulham .

We had no Jiminez - but we did have Neto . Our defence was not as solid as it is this season to date .

p.s. in our 13th match last season we beat Chelsea .

Points wise - very similar story to last season so far .

Jimenez hadn't suffered his injury at that point.

It happened in the 10th league game. It feels later because the season started later

Forgot about that delayed start, from memory the injury happened about this time of year?

Still, misleading to suggest those opening 13 games last season were sans Jimenez, he'll have played vast majority.

Raul hadn't been in particularly good form, which may have been due to the way we were playing, we were on decent points despite our form I think. The loss at West Ham and the injury to Raul proper broke us last season and we didn't really recover apart from odd games.

Not sure whether Neves meant it or not, but this new 'disrespectful' angle for certain players is a bit of a weird opinion-suppressant?
Suggesting Neves actually fucked his shot up to such an extent that it not only make it anywhere near the goal, but it wouldn't have even managed to get near to the corner flag, is indeed disrespectful.

He'd scored like 4 in 6 hadn't he? He definitely wasn't up to his usual standards but still putting the ball in the net when chances presented themselves.

Moutinho is an excellent technical player and still sliced a pass horribly out of play on Saturday.

I think this 'disrespectful' trump card is very selective, it builds up over time to limit constructive criticism and even normal observation. No one's calling Neves a cunt or saying he's been a waste of money or anything 🙂

😅 Man, if some of you were chocolate you'd eat yourself

Whether it was intentional or not, its not disrespectful to say Neves got one wrong, it doesn't happen often, he will make the occasional mistake due to what he's trying to attempt. It might make me sound like an old far (I am) but in modern day society it seems you are never allowed to make mistake and should be vilified for every one you do make.
