Wolves 1-0 Fulham: The 7th Place Is (pretty much) Ours Verdict Thread

Was interesting to hear Donck on MotD say he felt guilty after the semi-final. Oddly reassuring in a way (I'd have been more concerned if he didn't care) - hopefully yesterday was cathartic for him as ultimately it might well prove to be the goal that takes us into Europe (other results pending, ofc)

I'm looking forward to what he can do next season. I think a full pre-season may see him bulk up a bit like say Jota has since he arrived.

You could see how much it meant to him when he went over to Doc. I really like the lad. His attitude while waiting for his chance was superb and the difference he made since he got it has been very noticeable. Looking back at the season, if we were still talking in Hoddle-esque jigsaw piece terms, he would be one that I'd say completed the picture.

I see no-one has mentioned Doc's penalty shout in the first half. He went past a defender then went down. I was at that end in the North Bank but couldn't tell if there was contact. There must have been or why would he have gone down?

I thought that was a penalty. Never saw it on MOTD highlights so can't be sure, but looked one at the time.

Looked like a dive to me from where we were sat to be honest.

Just watching Sky's 30 min highlights.

Jota's early pen shout. There was contact on his standing leg by Ream, but he was just outside the box any way.

I didn't notice it was a Molineux return for Stuart Gray on Fulham's bench too.

Although it meant nothing as the ref stopped play for handball, Rui's save from Babel's thunderous strike was incredible

It was a decent game really. We had plenty of good chances and there was a bit of a party atmosphere inside the stadium and outside after the game. A really enjoyable day. Missing football already. Roll on July.

I sit in the NB there so it was right in front of me. I haven’t watched back so I may Be wrong, but firstly I thought it was outside the box. Secondly I’m not sure there was much contact. Bryan put out a leg to block the cross and Doc megged him. Now he was in on goal here for a pretty blatant opportunity for a cut back and goal so I have no idea why he Klinsmanned (the way he went down did him no favours). There may have been contact, but it was more Doc running into Bryan than anything else. No pen for me live at the time.

As I’ve said, the most annoying aspect of it is we would have scored if he’d stayed on his feet.

It wasn't on BBC or Sky's highlights so I still haven't seen it back. Hopefully it'll be on the club's package.

What a day and night.

Thanks to all involved, you made a grumpy man happy.

It was loads of fun wasn't it? See you on the 18th for the curry-off.

Yep, cheers gents. Had a really good time :icon_biggrin:

Great fun gents.

I did 5 miles today...

Just to echo everyone else here, had a very good time at the game and post-match. Enjoyable day.

Match was good too, apart from the Mitrovic chance we had them at arm's length. A shame for Rui that the whistle had gone for Babel's shot though - what a shot and what a save! Rico made one very good save against Jota, who I thought did well. Doc as well impressed me on Saturday and the ball in was lovely. Very nice finish by Dendoncker who was my MOTM.

Here's hoping Man City do us two favours and then it's Europa in July. Very very exciting possibility. Wonderful season.

I think I may well have walked half of that too.

I shit for England on the night, lost another stone. Great to meet up with you lads again, need to do it more oftern if my legs allow it.

I thought I was pretty sober but the more I think about it the more I realise I was a lot more hammered than I thought.
