Wolves 1-0 Fulham: The 7th Place Is (pretty much) Ours Verdict Thread

Well I enjoyed that immensly, thought it was a pretty good game, fair play to Fulham for giving it a go but we deserved the win, didn't think we were gunna score at one point, seemed to be one of those days but it was a good un when it came. Ref wad poor but don't think Jota did him self any favours going down so easily for those two early challenges, he was unplayable later though. What a great season......sneaky feeling we gunna get dummat at Anfield

For neatness and my sanity...

Ah OK. He looked class any way for such a little kiddo.
Yeah, saw him play for his school a few weeks ago. He looked amazing, way better than everyone else on the pitch.

Someone said he is already signed up with Stoke's academy. Not sure that's correct though.

Yeah pretty cool, didn't expect anyone to know who it was ha. Booooooo (if Stoke :D)

We'll likely be last on MOTD tonight so...

Match Choice at 22:30 on Sky PL will be the usual 30 mins of highlights on the red button. Repeated for our game at 01:00.

Is nobody at all going to give Doc any credit for the cross, it was inch perfect ? :)

Was good play all round from him! I actually thought he had one of his poorer games but he managed to produce the moment we needed

Yes very good cross. Had to build his way into the game slowly.

The wing-backs always suffer when teams match up with 3 at the back. Him and Jonny struggled all game to have any influence in attacks.

The table looks bloody fantastic tonight.

Yes, but they have to beat City and Chelsea

Great result, not the best 1st half, took control in the 2nd, had some good chances but it took a really great finish from Donk to make the breakthrough. Jota was an absolute menace. Pity he couldn't cap a brilliant performance with the goal he deserved.

Docs best moment and move of the match

If Leicester win their last two ,fair play they deserve 7th then

Jota was awesome.

Jon Moss is a parks ref.

What a season.

Still nervous that Watford do City

That was men against boys.

3 - 0 would have been a fair result. Jota really wanted the goal that his performance deserved.

Curry night after in good company so am quite mellow now.

Great day. Win

Time with a lot of my friends from on here for the traditional last home game of the season curry. I loved today. Thank you all.

We played well enough to win - but the game certainly had an end of season feel to it. Delighted with the 3 points, and for Leander to get the winner, think that will do him some good. A lovely goal too.

So proud of this team - I can’t go my head around the fact that we could be in Europe next season

ta you've saved me typing

What really puts it all into perspective is the performance of the two teams we came up with. Last year we beat Cardiff by 9 and Fulham by 11. This year we're 7th, they're both relegated and as of last night we're 26 ahead of Cardiff and 31 ahead of Fulham. In fact, we have as many points as Fulham and Cardiff COMBINED

Was interesting to hear Donck on MotD say he felt guilty after the semi-final. Oddly reassuring in a way (I'd have been more concerned if he didn't care) - hopefully yesterday was cathartic for him as ultimately it might well prove to be the goal that takes us into Europe (other results pending, ofc)

I'm looking forward to what he can do next season. I think a full pre-season may see him bulk up a bit like say Jota has since he arrived.

Very pleased with the perfirmance and the result.
We got very lucky with the sitter mitrovich missed

And the same could be said of Fulham with the numerous chances we had which just went wide by millimetres! On another day Jota could easily have bagged 3 or 4 goals in that game.

An enjoyable match and a pleasing end to a magnificent first campaign back at this level (end in terms of home games) though until Donck scored it felt like one of those games where we would create a myriad of chances but finish none.

Regarding the 2 Jota penalty incidents in the first half, from my seat high in the Steve Bull I thought the first was soft and not a penalty and the second looked nailed on and I was livid it wasn't given but having seen the highlights on Sky I think the first was a foul but just outside the box and the second I can see why Jota got booked though you do see those given to the big boys and 'plucky little' Bournemouth.

The referee was diabolical, how a 48 year old with all that timber can be expected to keep up with 22 supremely athletic 20 somethings is beyond me. I'm 47, less upholstered than Moss and I play 5-a-side with lads in their 20s every week but I wouldn't put myself forward for keeping up with Premier League footballers!

Pleased for Donck getting the winner, it was noticeable how the semi-final affected him so good to see him make amends with the goal that might have secured 7th and European qualification.

Jota my MOTM

Jota MOTM for me, just wish he could have bagged the goal he deserved. Really that scoreline should have been a lot more comfortable than it actually was and Donck’s goal brought a collective sense of relief you could feel all around the ground. We’ve done what we can now and it’s over to City on two fronts.

Great after match night, shame Boho split us up temporarily but still a really good night with some top mates. Brilliant to see Jase again as well. I’m a bit sad this morning that it’s all over for another season.
