Wolves 0-1 Liverpool: Verdict Thread

The goal is off one of our patented awful throws and we couldn't quite knit it together at the other end.
Just had to Google it but Liverpool have Thomas Grønnemark a “throw-in coach”

Who could we get in as ours?!?

Certainly don’t want an argument and the ref was sht but... isn’t that 4 + 4 = 8 which is OK? There can’t be any injury time added for an injury beyond the allotted time.
About 2 minutes short - which always happens.

You decided that from the 8 minutes or so he was on the pitch ?

Just my opinion. And I've seen him play for more than 8 mins.

I'd love him to work out for us, but aside from having a decent pass on him I don't feel he has the attributes for where we want to be, or even where we were until this season. He'll do OK elsewhere

God help us if Raul doesn't come back as he was. Even Fulham scored against Liverpool, and because they have a fucking striker.
It's absolutely killing us in every game.
John Barnes was on Matchday extra talking about Neto and Traore. They are not strikers, they are providers. He's right. But we have nobody to provide for them. So crosses are a total waste of time. They may as well pass it into the vegetable section at Asda.
So pissed off right now. Seen this so many times through the years. Ref bias towards Liverpool/Man Utd etc. It's a joke which is on us every time we play them. And it's always us that walks away with no points from it. Now we have to stew in it for 3 weeks. Cunts..

We clearly do not have one. But we must have a pass back coach for those occasions when we are in the final 3rd.

I am not his biggest fan but you are 100% correct. If you do not play you do not shine. Look at Iheanacho at Leicester - gets a run - now he is their best striker!

Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo to BBC Sport: "Rui Patricio is OK. He's conscious, he's aware. He remembers what happened. The assessment is positive - he's going to be OK.

"Concussion, when it's something so serious, you always get worried. It can happen in football. He's OK. We have to be aware of the right measures. He's in good hands."

Greg Halford
Hahaha

I don’t think Gronnemark has been working for Liverpool recently, he’s just started working with another club though I think. His work is meant to be good, and he comes across very well on his YouTube videos! :D

it’s an area we really need to address. When you consider how many throw ins a team has in a game it’s not an area you should neglect.

afc Wimbledon actually appointed a “restarts” coach recently as well, which of course includes throw ins

Everyone speaks so highly of him though so he must have something about him

Like the rest of the team who are all nowhere near their best level. it is very depressing. Our players are quality.

Whenever there is a lengthy injury games tend to be curtailed.
But it hasn’t been. The Bear spelt it out. Let’s try again. If you get to the 88th minute and we’re planning on adding 5 mins and an injury that wipes out the remaining 2 mins that adds... 2 mins. If it takes 45 mins to resolve you don’t play another half for the fck of it.

I don't think a throw-in coach would need to be particularly good to improve ours. It seems we set up on the basis we will probably lose the ball and everyone needs to be focused on that. I've never seen us lose the ball from throws so frequently as we do under Nuno.

If you say so. The match seemed to be shorter because of the injury. It certainly disrupted it. But main thing is that Rui is not badly injured.

I first attended a game in 1988...we have been shit a throw ins since then. Think it's now part of our club DNA.

Seems like Rui is ok.
Bit surprised at some of the negativity, thought first half was the best we've played this season, not quite as good second but not bad.
We matched Liverpool for pretty much the whole game, a bit unlucky.
How that first one isn't a penalty I don't know, even the Moutinho one I've seen given for much less.
Semedo or Coady should score really from their chances (not sure if there was an offside for the Semedo chance).
I actually burst out laughing at the Boly 'hand ball'
Why was Neto playing so deep?
Rui should do better for the goal but how do they get that chance from our throw.
Obviously we have issues scoring, no change there but overall I was encouraged by our performance tonight, if we can continue that and get more players into scoring areas we'll be ok.
