Wolves 0-0 Leicester: Verdict Thread

Braver?

I can’t remember anybody not being brave.
Maybe the wrong word. More assertive perhaps. I'd have said gamble more but i realise that word is like a red rag to a bull for you.. ;)

I genuinely have no idea what you mean.

I'm sure it was you who said about gambling belonged in the Sunday League (or words to that effect), but if not i apologise.
I did and it does.

I don't know what you mean when you say we need to be braver. I didn't think anybody hid today and or midfield two were braver and more assertive/ less passive than I've seen for a while.

What did you mean?

Looking at the Sky Sports highlights, and the in game chances videos we had a lot more than they did. We need to be braver in the box. One of the days we will win by more than one goal by the chances we are creating. We need that lucky break i think.
I think we tactically need to find a way of getting more players inside the box or players, we then need to get those players to be proactive and have good movement. WJ and Adama did for the Neto cut back, Silva did with his little step over for Moutinho to shoot. There's little bits here and there but i still think there's lots to work on.

I would think we all agree, the team and Nuno included in that. It's work in progress i'm sure. Just glad they all realised that back to basics was the way to go right now as it was all ( the bottom teams) getting a little close for comfort.

Well sorry to chat “absolute football fan bollocks”, but I don’t think Jose misses that chance. I think he sticks it in the bottom corner.

Obviously we’ll never know.
He's hasn't scored for Wolves and hasn't had a comparable opportunity. I think Silva should score, puts his foot through it and it becomes a more difficult save, but saying Jose scores it is whataboutery based on zero evidence

A decent performance. On balance we probably should have won but how many games have we played alright and lost this season because of one daft error. Which is what almost happened right at the end, so I'll take the point.

They're third in the league and Rui hasn't made a proper save, a couple of long rangers right at him and that was it. So speaks volumes as to how well drilled we were in general, we negated Barnes who has been in super form and Maddison didn't do much either.

Great to see Jonny back, like he'd never been away, a bit of steadily building his minutes and that's us sorted at LB/LWB again.

Central midfield was decent again, think the goal has given Joao a bit of a boost and Neves is just a class act. Neto was outstanding in the first half but drifted out of it, we do ask him to do a bit much sometimes, the amount of occasions he has to run on his own from halfway is probably not great for his energy levels. Usual mixed bag from Adama, little spells where they couldn't deal with him and other passages where he constantly ran into traffic and refused to pass the ball.

Quiet game for Willian, not much service for him (even in terms of balls into his feet), Fabio did ok when he came on. I agree with Nuno's assessment, it's both one he should score AND it's a great save by Schmeichel, the two aren't mutually exclusive. Next season I think he does score that kind of chance.

Would like to see the Evans challenge(s) again as I feel he was a bit fortunate to stay on.

Overall encouraging, we have a way to go but it's four points from two tough games after our confidence had taken a real battering, onwards and upwards to the cup game.

Missed the Evans challenge at the time but 100% a red after seeing the replays. Don't understand how it wasn't looked at. Still would like to see the challenge at the end of the first half too. Would have been soft yes but if Barnes kicks Semedo first then it's a pen.

I found this on you tube. A collection of WJ goals over the last two years, some scrappy some very neat. He can put his laces through it. So I think there is hope he will score a few from in and out of the box as well as with his head.

I thought it was nice to roll back the weeks and complain against us again being a very wasteful side. I enjoyed a performance that would have frustrated me 3 months ago because we had the chances and more importantly situations which should have lead to at least a couple of goals. That however looked more like Wolves under Nuno, so negatives in the past felt like positives today.

I watched that when i knew we were going to sign him. Everyone (including him) needs to get on the same page. When that happens i think he'll get a good few goals.

Oh, one moan, we may well be the worst team in the world on throw ins. Takes an age for anyone to move, then it's normally only one option who gets easily marked, two touches and we either knock it out of play or concede possession. Baffling how a team of players who are basically all comfortable at Premier League level get such a basic thing so wrong so often!

Agreed, it's such an obvious thing for us to fix too

Hopefully there's a memo on Nuno's desk in the morning! Practice throw in's!

That memo must have been on his desk for months. Probably written in Chinese.

Joking aside, it’s been an issue for absolutely ages and doesn’t seem to be a priority to fix.

Don't think I have ever seen us good at throw ins. A special vintage at the moment but always felt like others are better than us in that department

Is it Liverpool that have a throw in coach?

Was just about to post this, apart from Bennett’s long throws we’ve been uniformly shit at them since forever. Even halford seemed to fuck them up here.

It's next to the short corner memo!
