Winter Improvement Thread (aka Winter Squad Weakening Thread and TWF Suicide Watch)

He doesn't though does he? You, I or anybody else on here aren't making the decision on whether he is sacked or not. Short of a a serious plunge towards relegation and we only need about another 10 points to stay up then he'll be here again next year. I have seen nothing to suggest that his job is under threat and I doubt we'll have a new owner by then who may change that.

I'm working on the proviso that we're a club that actually wants to move forward. If of course we're happy to just muddle around mid-table of this league forever then he's relatively safe.

He's lucky to have that extended audition let alone anything else.

Rhodes has signed for Boro - does that mean that we will sign Kike?

Not a chance of Jackett getting sacked. Say what you want about the style of play used to execute it, but he has turned around a pretty awful slump.

He'll 100% be in charge next season but it wont be on merit.

I think if he was going to go under this administration in any eventuality other than looking like going down it would have happened after Sheffield Wednesday

He's the perfect caretaker while the club is up for sale, mid-table Championship players coming to play for a mid-table Championship manager is all we can expect for the foreseeable.

Mid table is the zenith of his abilities, it's well within the realms of possibility we go on another horror show of a run and drop down the table.
If he's here next season I'd expect us to be in a relegation battle.

A slump that was his fault in the first place.

He has 18 games to prove that he deserves to keep his job and I have zero faith in him producing enough evidence that suggests he's the man to take us forward.

If we put a run together and got close to the POs I would still have no faith in him. He has demonstrated in the last two seasons that even if he gets a side playing reasonably well the wheels fall off at the slightest bump in the road.

Tim II tweets no deals for Wolves. Kike deal off.

It would be great if he signed tonight now :)

Hope not. Poor chap has a story on the collapse in tomorrow's E&S

I doubt even he is wrong at this stage.

I would have been happy with Kike, but after that I can only imagine we would have been going for anyone just to appease supporters.

Mason, ALF, Sig, RVLP. It really is not as bad as some would make out - any striker signing would not have made THAT much of a difference anyway. I am looking forward to Bright also hopefully given a go.

Bet the mongs on the Mix are seething about a player not signing whom they likely knew sod all about! :D

There is a lot of negativity over there but it is hard to blame them. The Afobe move should have been more adequately compensated for.

I doubt 'appeasing the supporters' was a high priority for us in this window.

The Kike deal falling through is a minor setback, we'll get someone in on loan. They might be complete dogshit, but we'll definitely get another striker in.

I think three signings in January is decent, unfortunately two are injured.

Or don't sell him in the middle of the season.

We have also sold our only first team left back and are planning to cover his departure with a bad right back, an injured centre half who hasn't played in three and a half months (and isn't even back playing for the reserves yet) and a youngster with 0 minutes in the league behind him.
