Winter Improvement Thread (aka Winter Squad Weakening Thread and TWF Suicide Watch)

I'm more making a point about our recruitment, about spending around £5m of the Benik money on forwards none of us are hugely enthusiastic about and what those two forwards might mean for the style of play...

But now being reported that M/bro Gazette says Kike won't be leaving...

Have I missed something? Who are the two forwards we have signed?

Am I right in thinking that the last player we signed really late on deadline day was Andy Keogh?

Bassong.

Keogh wasn't deadline day IIRC.

If we don't sign a striker tonight we'll add in the loan window so I'm not massively concerned. From what Ken said in the Bolton build up interview he's happy with Hause & Doherty at LB so I don't think we'll be going for anyone in that position. I strongly disagree with him on that point but I'm at the stage with Ken where I know that nothing is going to change (either from him or the club) so there's no point getting worked up about it.

Bassong was definitely in that bracket. News broke after we lost at home to Liverpool on 31st Jan (night match).

He's apparently said something about Deslandes being ready for the first team, too.

He said this morning he would have no problem with putting Deslandes straight in.

Indeed, we need a natural left back at left back. It would be good to see him given the chance although it will probably be Chinstrap starting there.

Bring it on, tomorrow night please.

Not a chance. Watch the Bolton build up video on youtube, he positively raves about Matt Doherty and his performances recently.

Vaz Te been released by Charlton, could be a barrel scraping saviour.

Along with Franck Moussa, who I'm pretty sure we have been linked with before. Not sure I would want either.

Vaz Te has had one good season in his career. He's 29 and he's barely made 150 first team appearances. Wouldn't touch him with a ten foot barge pole.
