I quite like Kyle Bartley. Always thought its a little unfair how he doesn't get a proper run in the Swansea 11 (especially with them being awful at the back this season). Anyway, I'd take him.

Got a horrible feeling the striker isn't going to come off and we'll be left scraping around for a loan deal.

Bartley was beyond awful for Blues. He's got all the physical characteristics of what should make a decent centre half but he just isn't very good. He's barely even managed an adequate loan spell anywhere let alone come close to earning a place at Swansea.

Whenever I've seen him he's looked athletic, strong, happy with the ball on the ground or in the air - and he has a good positional sense. I'd take him at this level, 100%.

Also encouraging - much more value to be had in going abroad for a new striker this window, IMO. I don't know how much the club scouts across mainland Europe, but our targets tend to be the same as in the McCarthy days, and only rarely non-British or Irish.
