Why don't you post on the other forum?

I tend to read MM rather than post though I do occasionally. I started posting more.on here years ago after chatting to Kenny and Paddy in the South Bank and they invited me, probably missed my with and repartee and probably still do

It's evolved from a clique, I believe the phrase is now 'prominent poster'

"Gobshite" is probably more accurate.

Apparently I get away with saying whatever I want, which is nice.

I was - just today - banned from the other forum for talking about things not directly related to transfers in a transfer thread.

15000 posts. Thanks.

Guess I'll post here now!
Sorry to hear about this -

You were one of my favourite posters on the Mix and a consistently good poster to boot.

I have no clue what happened today, or why they decided to start purging out of the blue (apparently they are still deleting posts in the summer transfer thread as of an hour ago) but it's absolutely batshit. How can they have a mod on there who is so incapable of reading intent or understanding sarcasm and football humour?

Reminds me of the day we had a break in at The European Cup Thread (Copyright Pogo) Kenny was like a OMG OMG with Triggers broom..

Yup. I saw a great post by a chap named 'Very Proud' deleted unceremoniously.

Admins are of course welcome to do what they want. I, as a contributor, am also welcome to pack my bag and darken the doorway of this fine establishment instead!

I should add that I know Dave who has run it from day one back in 2005 and Mutchy personally, and they're really nice people. I've no beef, it's just not what I want out of talking aimlessly about Wolves every day.
Yeah Dave is really nice, I felt bad towards him after I got banned for spamming all the top posters (probably 100 of them) at midnight when no mods were online with DMs promoting this forum (there was a 30 second limit between DMs I seem to remember).

Never mind not going back there, I haven't even typed it into my browser pretty much since because it was always full of crap and I highly highly doubt it's changed.

This place has now some early echos of when that place went downhill...I do wish we'd particular nail the derailing of threads here. I was thinking of posting a thread here about how we improve the user experience here for one, but would rather mods just knew many of us are staying quiet because of the crap of others and we really don't mind if you want to nip that behaviour in the bud, even if it causes said poster to have a melodramatic breakdown (no names)

Frequented the E&S MM (and Amy's Tavern too)in the late 90s/early 00s, do SFS and SSW still post anywhere?

Disappeared from forums for a while when having kids so never really used MM as it is now... It looks too garish and busy for me.

Good mix of people on here and some very knowledgeable and interesting types too, no need to go anywhere else IMO

Also the Mix football team was good fun for the 10 odd games I played, as well as the Barnsley away game where we went up as Champions and 15-ish of us hired a mini bus. Certainly the Mix was a great place once upon a time. Del's had a personality transplant since though 🤣 (we all grow up eventually I guess!)

Interwolves? I played a few times for them. Alex Amsel? organised it. Did a few weekend tournaments as well including a an “interesting“ one in Leeds.

No it was just called the Mix as far as I can remember, I do also vaguely recall you coming to one of the early games when it started out. Pretty sure Dave/Bod organised stuff initially. All the games were around Wolverhampton, I don't know the area well enough to tell you where though!

I have no idea if my account on the Mix still exists. Probably not, I haven't tried in years.

I moved over here from there because I was fed up of just relentless negativity from a forum full of Private Frasers; and when a lot of the more interesting posters moved here, so did I.

The only time I go over there is when this site plays up - so a couple of times a week. Like many I left because of the over moderation and Mutchy being a power crazed pain in the arse.
I liked Mutchy. Good sense of humour. It's the other one who is power crazed. The beauty of being a grown man is that you can just leave toxic situations like that

Being remote always felt I needed some means of gauging general fan opinion and this place seemed to have less guff to cut through before getting to the good stuff.

The debates seem pretty well reasoned and tend to be informative, which I guess is fundamentally what I was looking for. Not into shouting matches but each to their own I guess.

Lockdown and the lack of availability of match day tickets has seen the normal half a dozen games a year effectively reduce to nothing, so the general quality of the debate on here is appreciated.

Kind of figured the wait for tickets until the fantasy 50,000 capacity was completed would all be worthwhile, but reading some of the posts on here tickets will evidently become available for much less celebratory reasons which is such a waste of good work and a crying shame.

Hey hey. Fellow victim of the soft-banning yesterday. Can't post without waiting for my posts to be pre-approved, can't like anybody's posts, can't even PM anyone. It's almost as if I'm browsing as a guest.

Not sure why they suddenly had it in for me after 15 years of trouble-free posting, but it's a crazy place over there at the moment.

Mutchy PMd me and it went a bit like this:

Mutchy: You're trolling
Me: No I'm not
Mutchy: Maybe the reason you think you're not is BECAUSE YOU'RE A TROLL?
Me: No, I'm really not - you just don't agree with me
Mutchy: Yes you are, WUM.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Re the clique, I've posted on and off here from pretty much the start, Theres groups of people who knew each other previous and groups who've met up and become friends. I liked it as an open friendly forum, I have had my odd spats (those are on me) but its generally where I go to.

I don't know anyone on here outside of the internet, but I don't really use it to make friends just to shoot the breeze and read some (some not so) well informed views. Of course people will interact more with those they have met and spoken to and generally they will share similar views (I believe thats how friendship works) but it doesn't really detract from the Forum as a platform for open discussion
