Not true - because Lennon didn't write a single word or note of (amongst others) Yesterday or Hey Jude. They often wrote songs on their own, played them to each other and if the other liked it, they didn't add anything to it.

But all their compositions are Lennon/McCartney because that's what they agreed when they set out.

When the Beatles broke up, there was a lot of bad feeling between them for various reasons but if you're a good songwriter and can make a good song out of such a situation, there's nothing wrong with that at all.

That's facts I didn't know but I do believe when John was killed they were starting to patch the relationship together. Either way they will always be credited as one of the best music writers ever.

No Quarter is possibly my favourite Led Zep song. Although it would probably be different if asked tomorrow.

I imagine Lennon didn't co-write on virtually all of the McCartney stuff. I generally prefer Paul's output than John's personally as I find it more melodic and interesting musically. Generally speaking of course.

Stuff like Blackbird and the wonderfully melodic Till There Was You would never have come out of Lennon's brain.

Til There Was You wasn't written by Paul either - they covered it. Agree about Blackbird though - amazing song.

I think they had made their peace when John died. I'm sure they'd have played together again at some point.

I reckon everyone has it in them to write one great song if they work at it. Paul McCartney wrote many but to prove a point wrote The Frog Chorus to demonstrate it also works in reverse.

I listened to the new Suede album yesterday. The first two tracks are ace (Barriers + Snowblind). The rest of the album is a big bag of MEH. Though the new single is alright, which is track 3.

Just listened to an awesome set on the box from Richard Thompson (ex-Fairport Convention). Really tremendous stuff, folky, rocky, gentle at times, other times turning the wick up ever so slightly. Just brilliant from start to finish.

Steve Mason's album "Monkey Minds in the Devil's Time"

Out walking the dog in the sand dunes earlier, I was listening to Tom Waits 'Glitter Dome Tour Live' and it was loud and stunning.
