Dick Heckstall-Smith (a name that some may not be familiar with, but a superb jazz/blues saxophonist)

Album (& yes I still have vinyl) 'Dust in the Air Suspended marks the place where a story ended'

A number of very good musicians - including Chris Farlowe on vocal & Jon Hiseman on drums/percussion - both very underrated in my view

The Best of James (the band, not the poster on TWF).

Fucking awesome and really makes me miss Manchester!

I'm listening to mainly prog rock at the moment not much has really interested me except for Klaatu.

Was listening to Down - Nola in the car on the way in this morning. Such a great album. Pepper Keenan is one of the best funk-metal riff merchants.

This song is so good it hurts:

I forgot this album existed! Awesome stuff.

Have you given King Crimson a spin?

Also, the beeb did a great Prog Britannia documentary a few years back that is worth a watch:

Going to see them tonight in Birmingham.
And tomorrow, in manchester.
:disco:

Thanks Langers.
I know I will. Seen them about 12 or more times already. One of the great live bands. Every time I've seen them, they've played something new I've never heard before.
I know that they're playing 2 or 3 new songs on the new tour.
I am excited.

Never seen them - they are one of those who seem to have avoided me! I'm sure I will one day.

Seriously, they are one of the best live. They jam and improvise a lot on stage.
If you ever get the chance, take it my dear fellow. They're awesome.

I rememebr the first time I saw them live. 1997. They came on stage to Come home, & launched into Sit Down. I stood there, 3 rows back at the civic thinking "fuck me, they've played their 2 biggest hits first. They've blown it. Downhill from here."

How wrong was I! Awesome gig. Definitely in my top 5 gigs ever!
