What are you currently listening to....

Who will save the world by The Mighty Groundhogs.

A blast from the past, not heard it for years.

I am loving clean bandit and the track rockabye . Class. Anne Marie on vocals is something special, best new voice I have heard since Adele

Went for pints after work with my colleagues, and Soon came on, which meant I had to absolutely blast this when I got home

I like a couple of theirs. Dreaming, Woody Allen and Polaroid Song. They were a bit twee but ok.

A very cool feature on Spotify - the best 100 songs I've listened to this year.

A lot of those are songs that were on my 'Discover Weekly' play list. I save the ones I like to my library so I've heard a load of new (or more accurately previously unknown) stuff this year.

It's well worth a tenner a month considering how much I use it.

Yeah, it's easily the best tenner in terms of value for money that I spend every month. My top 100 has ended up being basically a compilation of the best of my own bespoke playlists through the year, which is no bad thing.

Stats I got through on email:

83,949 total minutes (just over 58 days)
2,319 artists
5,723 unique tracks

It does say that I'm in the top 1% of people who've listened to Oasis but I have some difficulty in believing that. I don't put them on *that* much.

Cheers, I didn't notice that feature (or the Discover Weekly playlist).

I think my top 100 is slightly inaccurate due to playing stuff for the kids to listen to. As a result I have Black Lace's Superman in the list alongside Master of Puppets :icon_lol:

Ooh I love stats. #geek

I hope they email me with some of mine.

i have to say, given what you can get access to, that sounds excellent value. if i didn't spend so much already on music in physical form i'd certainly consider it, though i'd have to get over my dislike of it (easily done if the deal's good enough).

i'm still a bit old-school. does anyone else still buy stuff they've never heard or is that considered totally dumb and unnecessary these days.

I loved collecting music but it's so handy subscribing to a digital service - I've so much more room for a start and you can use more than one device to access your favourite stuff.

I have discovered so many new sounds through it that I never would have otherwise heard. It's been brilliant. It's also very handy to receive an email informing you that an artist's new release is available assuming you follow them.

yep, i think that's the best bit. i know what it's like doing the hard slog so if you're that way inclined, anything that makes it easier, especially when you're time challenged. i had years of not being able to do this just down to work/lifestyle. it's great to hear some of you are making full use of it.

The best way to discover new sounds is to go to a random gig, at a festival preferably. But like you say, my current lifestyle means that's simply not possible!
