Just came across this on TV...

Didn't realise Green Day were still even together let alone producing new music, a marked improvement on what they've done the last few attempts.

Preordered the new album Revolution Radio and it arrived yesterday, it is bloody good and much better than Uno, Dos and Tre were

I've never been a massive fan to be honest but they're one of those bands that there are plenty of songs I'd happily listen to if they came on TV or radio until their more recent stuff completely put me off, good to see them getting back to something decent.

Game of thrones season 6 incidental music including the main theme. Excellent orchestral works

Paramore for some unknown reason, even more peculiarly I'm strangely enjoying it too.

I like Paramore. Not loads of their stuff but enough. Hayley Williams has an excellent voice.

Metallica have released another track from Hardwired today. Atlas...Rise.

Much more like it. Some ace riffage in there.

HOWEVER...I am going to Kirk Hammett's house and burning every fucking single one of his wah pedals in front of him. Too much of one effect ruins the impact.

Rush - Spirit of Radio.

I don't believe I've ever actually listened to Rush before so whilst I'm sure I'll recognise some tracks I thought I'd give them a go as Frank is always going on about them!

He's been overdoing it on the wah peddle all the way back since Ride the Lightning.

What are your thoughts.
I still like Hold Your Fire.

In associated news, I did read the Storm book, and as a consequence keep playing or whistling Floyd at the mo.

2112 is Rush at their majestic best. It is simply stunning.

In other news - been listening to the new Suicidal Tendencies. Tremendous.

What would you recommend for someone exploring a bit of suicidal tendencies? Have listened to side projects and stuff, but never really listened properly to any ST.

Lights, Camera, Revolution is a brilliant album. Send Me Your Money is a great track on there.

Institutionalized is the good early stuff, and if you can find them, Possessed to Skate and Join the Army are worth a check out.

Suicidal for Life is a cracking album but VERY VERY sweary. So much invective it actually distracts from the songs!

Still have 2112 on regularly in the car, as well as the occasional but of Grace Under Pressure, Moving Pictures etc. Saw them at the NEC in '89 but I should stick needles in my ears as punishment for missing the 30th and 40th anniversary tours. I'm a total dick.

You should check the new album out SLA. Really reminds me of Lights Camera Revolution era stuff. Ridiculously good lead work from Rocky George (I assume) as well.

BTW - I never knew that Dave Lombardo had joined Suicidal. That would explain the insane drumming on the new release then!

Bit of Krafty Kuts to bop about to whlst painting.
Am on a break, gotta work out the next cd...
