West Ham 2-1 Wolves: Verdict Thread

Spirited second half performance + poor VAR decision = more time for Gazz to turn things round.

Shout out for Doc, decent goal.

100% correct though.
It’s not net £200m though. He only got the job because he is a yes man. I’d say he’d grown a spine tonight, but he hasn’t since he just blamed anyone but himself for our defensive setup

Also Gary, we had 41 points not 39 the year before, and finished 13th. Right to point out the obvious that owners are asset stripping us, but that's not why we are where we are.

He’s in defence mode looking to get his excuses in before he looks for another job. He’s been dealt a bad hand but it isn’t anywhere near as bad as he’s made it out to be.

Yep, I think it's confirmation bias to pretend we were rubbish today. We weren't.

Still lost though.
Could well be the case. I do think we were rubbish though. Perhaps on a relative scale it wasn’t so bad. They were poor too. Still rubbish.

Comments about being dealt a difficult hand are just final shots at Fosun and their running of things.
Said it on the match day thread it’s mitigation but doesn’t excuse being shockingly bad in every other aspect.

VAR didnt leave Soucek unmarked with a free finish on the far post at a set piece.

And we do sort of have a bit of a record of that this season.

I've never heard a manager get such a pass from the media before like this.

He had that list of players rehearsed, no way he reeled all those off the top of his head

Admittedly I was out and missed the first half, but based on the second half I didn't think we looked like anything much worth writing home about. Did we look any better in the first half?

Half of them had left before he arrived

A list of players that includes numerous ones who left on a free and the vast majority of them went before he arrived at the club.

He literally didn't blow up on 98 minutes, Lop was stropping around complaining. And even as a biased fan, I didn't think either of the VAR decisions should have gone our way. The corner is wrong though.
Even if you think both possible penalties were not penalties both West Ham goals were incorrect. Not a corner as you said & also a clear foul in build up to Bowen’s goal. Others will tell me I am wrong but Sky, Carragher & GON all agree with me.
