We're through to the group stages - Wolves 2-1 Torino verdict thread

Yeah people giving 110% over baseline at being pricks.

I'm not a fucking belmer for saying 110%. That's pathetic

You are a nasty bastard at times and you always get away with it

It's because he's so utterly charming in person.

this 110% conversation is ridiculously stupid

Wmp bottled it in a classic definition of risk averse. Under risk averse in the policing manual it says see wmp policing plan WWFC v Torino. Really sorry to our friends from Torino. Some police commanders live in the 90s

80s frankly.

They are patting themselves on the back that there were no incidents that they have to deal with, while ignoring the fact that over 1000 visitors from a foreign country were treated abominably. Had they not treated them abominably, then I am confident there would still have been hardly an incident of note, and our guests would have enjoyed their visit far more.

Last night was awesome, despite the tension/expectation from the crowd. I guess this is something that happens and we widen our fan base and people become more expectant of entertainment?

I thought Romain Saiss was superb last night. My pick for motm.

Vallejo was clearly targeted for the first 20 minutes, made a few poor passes and dodgy headers but he really grew into the game and was solid enough.

As for Torino, strong, niggly and threatening. Couldn't really hear their fans from the southbank but it did look like a huge volume of police given the volume of away fans.

I definitely thought there were more moans and groans last night than normal - people did seem more expectant, like the old wolves pre-nuno. One guy even had the temerity to have a go at Boly.

Torino seemed to create a few good chances against us and on another day they could easily have won - but they didn't.

Seriously impressed with Raul's goal - not a goal of the season contender but a real poachers goal. He had absolutely no right to be scoring from there.

Adama still learning that you can't take the same risks in your half as you can further forward, but much more than a one trick pony in attack. Does he have his own song?

First couple of league games I thought Dendoncker was anonymous, but getting much more involved now.

We can play Saiss instead of Neves. Fucking amazing!

I would say they had the ball in some good areas, especially at the end when they were lumping it forward and overloading the front line rather than good chances. I can think of 1 chance they should have scored (when it was 2-1 to us), Rui's free kick save and the goal. Outside of that, they were a bit like us v Burnley with poor decision making when in a dangerous area

Wasn’t there only about 450? Couldn’t tell from my seat but I could see half the upper looked empty and there was only about 20 in the lower

Meite missed an absolute sitter. Literally shaved the post, I thought it was in. Then they got in again and the little guy failed to hit the target. They were very good chances. We weren’t great at the back at times yesterday.

Had a really good time last night, started slowly but we grew into the game and overall I thought it was a very professional performance.

Most of my thoughts have already been said. Traore was very good, again. He is finally starting to bring an end product to his game. He moves for the ball, doesn't just stand around waiting for a pass anymore. Seems like he is adapting well to the new role and understands his role in the team. Vallejo was very shaky to start, he is composed on the ball and can pass about well certainly, but some of the passes he made were sloppy. Was fine in the second half though. Think we will see Bennett starting for a good while longer yet. Boly improved as the night went on and had a very strong second half, had a few driving runs into the midfield and both him and Coady made up for Neves' absence with some good switches of play. Saiss and Dendoncker were everywhere, and the latter's goal was placed to perfection.

As for Torino, I liked them, seemed like a good side. Strong, passed it about well. Thought Belotti looked good on the ball, dangerous, took his goal well and threatened a lot in the last 5 minutes or so (helped by us messing about with it at the back). Thought Ola Aina was poor at Hull but he was decent too, probably their best player on the night going forwards, did struggle against Traore but that is becauase Adama did so well. Can understand why Torino started him, wanted someone quick to match Traore but he just could not keep up - when they took him off with 20 to go seemed like they had conceded defeat. I liked the midfielder they brought on also, Meite I think, kept looking to drive the ball forwards. Defending was iffy at times though, we would be fuming if Wolves had conceded either of those goals, particularly the 2nd. They're good but we are better - shame for Torino that they got drawn against us really.

Can't wait for the groups!

They had twice the number of shots than us, but the more telling stat is shots on target which was 5 to us & only 3 to them

The Meitewas one of them i included, just couldn't remember his name. Terrible miss.

Didn't Rui have to save a header when it was still 0-0? And a couple of very close efforts at the death.

It always puzzles me why casual fans have so much trouble finding their seat. I mean, you have a row and a seat number on your ticket - find that row, walk along it to the corresponding seat!

Really doesn't appear to be that difficult does it? I mean I suppose it would be better if there were people who worked there standing at the top of the steps who could even point you in the right direction but you can't have everything.

In terms of chances where I thought they should have scored, I can only remember a three. Standard saves or clearances are the moments in the game at the time you are worried about but when you watch the game back they are simple tasks that we should be dealing with

I wasn't there last night so can't comment directly. I would say that it appears to have been policed in the way I expected. I would fear what would happen with Torino fans left to their own devices and that's not a dig at them but some of the scrotes who attach themselves to our club, such as the ones who belted that Watford fan into a coma. It's sad, but I do understand it.
