We're through to the group stages - Wolves 2-1 Torino verdict thread

Everyone having to go around the Wrekin to get back to town so they could keep a totally friendly away support away from us. Arseholes. As soon as the announcement came over the tannoy I walked out to avoid that shit and walked through an absolute police state. Over the top. Ridiculous to the point of being offensive to our fans and also our guests who will have been left with a dreadful impression of Wolverhampton.

Fuck off WMP. Just fuck off.

Europa. :icon_lol:

Holy shit.

Dendoncker was superb tonight. Absolutely superb.

Saiss MOTM for me. Dendoncker and Traore definitely mentioned in despatches though.

Anyway, the Pot 2 miracle didn't happen! Just about every result we would have needed went against us. Not to worry though.

Netherlands PSV Eindhoven CC: 37.000
Russia Krasnodar CC: 34.500
Scotland Celtic CC: 31.000
Denmark Copenhagen CC: 31.000
Portugal Braga CC: 31.000
Belgium Gent CC: 29.500
Germany Borussia Mönchengladbach CC: 29.000
Switzerland Young Boys CC: 27.500
Kazakhstan Astana CC: 27.500
Bulgaria Ludogorets Razgrad CC: 27.000
Cyprus APOEL CC: 25.500
Germany Eintracht Frankfurt CC: 24.000

That's pot 2

Frankly only the two German clubs and Eindhoven would worry me. We would twat Celtic.

Decent game utterly and completely spoiled by the shameful way it was policed. Great way to make friends Wolverhampton
The policing was bollocks. Saw a loads of Torino fans being forceably marched in, while others happily stood around by the north bank bar.

-edit again- other thread is probably the right place

Dendonker is starting to remind me of Patrick Viera. So composed under pressure, lovely finish tonight

Dendoncker was fantastic tonight. We really missed him against Burnley until he came on. Does so much work at both ends of the pitch.

Fucking get in! Absolutely delighted.

I'm not bothered who we get in the group stage. I'm just going to enjoy being there and I'd put us in with a chance if qualifying whoever we are drawn against.

Don't know why there was such a police presence. I ended up walking into the station with Torino fans anyway and there were no problems. They were way OTT.

Same here. An absolute nonsense. Heavy-handed twats must have given such a bad impression of Wolverhampton and our club.

I take it back. Hope the WMP give them a few batons on the way out

Nah, not a chance of Italian football fans being racist. No way.

What a fantastic night. It's hard to comprehend that we've just qualified for the group stages of the Europa League. What a brilliant achievement.

We've reached a stage I thought was beyond us just a few years ago so I fully intend to savour each and every moment of the next steps in our development.

We deserved it overall but we had to play a very good side tonight. To come through 2 legs and be victorious in both is superb.

Belotti was excellent and a constant pest throughout. I thought Vallejo looked terrible in the first half as he just couldn't get the better of him, but he improved in the 2nd half.

1st time I've seen Traore 2.0 live and everything I hated about him last season seems to be improving. His runs are more intelligent, he's not as predictable with his final ball which is also improving. TBH I'd keep him in the XI.

MOTM was the imperious Romain Saiss. We've got a superb player here, and its ridiculous how under appreciated he was by previous managers. Tonight was his kind of game when we had less of the ball and badly needed his reading of the game and interceptions. Donk also played well - TBH the whole side needed to work hard to nullify a decent side.

Only downside was the less than welcoming reception for our Italian guests. Just no need. Why can't common sense prevail when it comes to away fans?

As for the match, I thought we looked back to our best for the most part. A slow start again, and I'd say the only weak point was Vallejo's defending of high balls. I worry he might have a touch of the Mirandas - a mobile centre half but can't seem to do the basics properly. Hopefully he can learn and adapt. He definitely got better as the game went on

The rest of the team played very well. Romain Saïss, take a bow. He was excellent, together with Moutinho. Boly was immense, Coady was excellent and Adama keeps getting better and better.

He just needs to learn how to pass and move in tight situations rather than try to dribble his way out and lose the ball in a dangerous part of the pitch. Other than a few of those, he was truly excellent, epitomised by his work for Raúl's goal.

Dendoncker covers so much ground and was excellent. Our midfield three were a different class today.

Jonny played very well, Jota blowed hot and cold but was fouled constantly and kept on going and did excellently for the goal that ended up being Dendoncker's.

Raúl was imperious. Absolutely top class centre forward play.

Very, very happy with how well we've done over the qualifying games and delighted to qualify.

Six games, six wins, scored 20, conceded four.

Had a quick chat with Paul Butler in the stand after the match as well, who seemed very excited about the European tour we're all about to go on. He's a bit of a state though. Let's just say the years haven't been kind to him..

As I said in the London, all it did was rile the Torino fans who were more intent on acting all aggressive towards the Wolves fans. Plenty of bellend Wolves fans reciprocated of course, thank fuck all of the nobs in the Steve Bull won’t be there again. Worst set of idiots I’ve seen in there yet.

Well that was exciting, thought Traore had shades of his indecisive worst at the start but he came good in the end, he and Vallejo gave the ball away quite a lot in the first half but both improved in the second, although Jesus looks vulnerable under the high ball, early days for him though and he does hit a lovely pass. Jota and Raul were lively, I'm starting to think Dendoncker might be our most important player.
Can't wait for the draw

Do you think Wolves will continue their £15 price policy for the group stages? Let's hope so.

I have a feeling they'll sell mini season tickets to bring the price down. Something like 3 matches for £50.
