Welcome to Wolves Rafa Mir

The fees small due to his contract been up in the summer. I guess £2m is actually quite a lot for someone with 6 months left on his contract.

I suppose it depends how much the club wanted him, and what other clubs were interested, be it Real Madrid or Rotherham United. If you want a player and have the finances then the fee is almost irrelevant.

Is it "Meer" or "Mer"?

Apparently he's good at finding space, stations himself in between the 2 centre backs...

I suppose the players wage would be a factor as well. What is the wage structure at Wolves? Anybody know? Is there one?

Don’t know how true it is, but have heard that our wages are fairly low, but have huge promotion bonuses, which if it is true then it’s another way around FFP.

I guess we’ll find out in February 2019....

Whatever it is it's obvious that every player is buying into a vision for the club and enjoying it. Brilliant to see.

The former

Cheers.

I think the club must clearly see him as ready for the first team if they're giving him #9. Fair play, I didn't think that was necessarily the case.

Not really sure it’s a way around FFP. Players would have promotion bonuses anyway and any player you want to keep who is underpaid you’d need to give a new contract too anyway if you got promoted.

The curmudgeonly old git in me would have liked him to earn the #9 shirt, although I see it is only for this season. Hope that doesn't piss Leo off. Suspect he might be on the bench vs. Swansea: might take a while to get up to speed

Straight in. Leo basically got of his flight had time to say hello to his teammates and he was starting v Boro.

If Leo is getting pissed off about what shirt number someone else has, then he can piss off back to Saudi Arabia.

I've got no patience for that sort of thing. It's a number on a shirt. It means less than fuck all.

Actually it can mean a lot to certain players. Superstition can play a big part with some of them and that will include shirt numbers.

That said, the fucks given by Leo on Rafa being #9 will be a big fat zero.

I get that, but honestly with a superstition like that I don't have much if any sympathy for them.

I buy into that kind of hoodoo even less than bogey team hoodoo.
