Welcome to Wolves Diogo Jota

Good to know he's going to sign, but as he's not really actually signed yet this a but of a non-news story..

Any word of the fee?

Depending on who you believe, in the summer it was mentioned he would cost £12m - £16m and either end of that is a bit of robbery from Jeff and Co.

He's agreed to honour the option we have in place.

Without that the option wasn't worth the paper it was written on. As at 1pm this afternoon we didn't know if he'd still be a Wolves player come July 1st, now we know he will be.

He’s not off form

Two goals and no assists since November.

Maybe knowing his future is sorted here will help settle him down. Last couple of times I've seen him he's looked too selfish going forward.

Does 'honours' actually count for much in football?

If he's signed something, which I suppose he must have if the club is actually announcing it, then yes.

You can’t only judge him on goals and assists, he has been class all season for me. Like anyone he has the odd off game here and there but I always feel he’s a player that can score or create from nothing in close games.

He's signed, he's committed, it's done.

Whether it's for the benefit of Wolves, Atletico or both that we've delayed the button officially being pressed until 1st July is neither here nor there. It's now set in stone that he's staying.

He certainly is, I'm not saying he's poor or not worth signing. I've been on the record that he's needed a rest for a while now.

Do you genuinely think Wolves & Fosun would have published the story on the official website today if it wasn't going to happen?

Let yourself enjoy it a little, you'll feel good for it - I promise.

He had a patch where he wasn’t at his best, but the last few games he’s been firing again.

Good to hear, haven't been able to watch them myself. Hopefully will rectify that soon.

I don't think it was because he was tired either, he was just not playing at the same (ridiculously good) level he was at the beginning of the season.

I guess he’s signed his contract, but no fee will have been paid, I assume it’s to do with FFP.

Probably more for Atletico's benefit given they have the added complication of dealing with UEFA's regulations.

He has signed. We aren't keeping the documents in Jeff's bottom drawer for five months...

This is my thinking. Given what we saw across the first 3 months of the season, I fear I too have been a bit over-expectant with some of our players.

There was a spell after the Blues game where he seemed to be more concerned with what was coming his way. The Blues game was the final straw in the assaults on him and it took his mind elsewhere for a month or so.

anyhow, the reaction chez jelly on hearing this news:

Spot on. You could see his head went for a while following multiple assaults on him and I thought for a while he'd have no intention of joining us permanently given the treatment he was receiving. It affected his performances but he's over it now and obviously is catching fire again.

To be fair, given two goals and no assists since November and Neves with no assists all season, they're looking absolutely terrible pieces of business.
