Welcome Jose Sa

I'm not saying he's right, or that the Sa signing will work out, but he literally explains the logic behind the signing right there. He's a player we think can play in the PL and do well, and who we want to develop.

I know none of the officials at the club know as much as you guys ;) but I'm just trying to see this in a balanced way. They seem to have lost a lot of goodwill and trust in a very short amount of time, and I don't think that's completely fair.
All my posts on Sa have been balanced, but if you are quoting Sellars you have to do so in the whole. Him claiming that Sa is part of his teams scouting in the same way as he did Trincao is comical. Just like Thelwell before him. He has credibility with RAN and the Columbian lad, just like Donck and Cutrone did with Thelwell, but insult our intelligence and the rest of what you say - even if it is correct, falls by the wayside

I would say on the footballing side they're taking a number of very risky gambles all at the same time, which is always going to make people edgy at best.

On the ticketing side they have been absolutely disgraceful, outright lies and a shameful policy of "if you don't pay it some other mug will, so fuck you", which is great for fans who've been following us for decades.

Other PR stuff is simply laughable, "Mexicans support us as their main team" FFS.

Our new manager appears to be a mute, he has no opinion seemingly on who we sign and sell.

I think they have lost goodwill but it's completely understandable.

I like how the Mexican joke has become flavour of the month but it wasn't all that long ago I was getting an earful for saying that market held little value for Wolves and told I was shortsighted in not seeing the benefit of milking Jimenez's profile over there.

Why all the negativity before the guy as played a game yet. Rui was quite happy to go.
Quite the opposite, he was more than happy to stay. We chose to sell him.

I think if Spurs decided to sell Lloris and then they signed an uncapped French keeper who isn't even particular young and plays in a crap league to replace him, we'd all say that's a bit strange.

Not from me you weren't.

It's not a joke, it's something the club actually said in all seriousness, it makes them look like a joke I'll grant you.

No I don't! No point in cut and pasting the whole article when the quote was directly relevant to the discussion with Lycan.

Most of this thread just sounds like axe-grinding, character assassinations and negative speculation. I couldn't care less about Sellars and Shi, they just work at my club and I have no concrete reason yet to think they're the devil incarnate.

Anyone would think Nuno had made us a successful PL club all on his own

The Mexican market holds value in terms of brand exposure, folks who sponsor us will get exposure in Mexico.

We'll sell naff all pin badges & shirts to them in the grand scheme of things.

Didn't intend on singling you out, I don't recall having that conversation with you particularly, just you happened to be the person making the point at the time.

It definitely happened though, people creamed themselves over the size of Jimenez's Twitter following and got all giddy about the Mexico and Portugal rip off away kits. I saw little benefit but plenty were adamant it was a winner for the club. Now it's become a semi-regular stick to beat the club with an everyone is well behind it as a point of ridicule.

Ok, you're just shouting into ether now. I'll bid you a good evening

Who said he was happy to stay?

The selling of Rui is on us. I'm not against it in the way others are, but it's Wolves' decision.

His mate (and we know it's not some made up account) said so on Twitter.

You haven't seen anywhere that he demanded to move either but you seem happy enough to go along with that.

I've not said he demanded a move. I don't do twitter so I hadn't seen the statement from his friend.

On the face of it it’s a downgrade. Rui is a very high quality keeper who had a fairly poor season last year.

I think stylistically it is definitely a change. From the sounds of it (I don’t know enough about Sa to comment mind) Sa is more proactive and plays higher. If we play a like like Benfica did under Lage, that will work better tactically. Let’s hope he is as good a shot stopper as Rui!

“He’s aggressive when coming for crosses, he commands his penalty area, has excellent distribution and he’s a very pro-active goalkeeper, and will be an important part in how we want to play under Bruno." : Sellars
I’d be happier if he came out and said Rui has been great for us but the club believes this guy is better.
