Trump

After watching a clip of him saying babies are allowed to be born after 9 months in some states and that needs to stop I am hoping someone can add some context to that because my brain simply can't work out what he was on about.

#StopThirdTrimesterDeliveries

Without wanting to start a shitstorm American business seems to love this bloke. They are already talking 4 more years.

of course businesses love him, he and his party just passed a new tax overhaul that massively reduces corporate tax rates and he is keen to "reduce regulation" in most areas, which in the end translates to fewer consumer and environmental protections which cost time and money

The pound is now only worth 7 cents less than the day before the Brexit vote. As the pound has not really gained on the Euro, I’d guess this is down to the lack of confidence in Trump rather than more confidence in Brexit.

Sleep with a porn star while married to your current wife, get your lawyer to pay her off, then said lawyer admits to paying her off. Not illegal, no laws broken, but the sort of story that would go very close to bringing any other President down, for Trump it's a byline

can you even imagine if that had been Obama a few years ago? Republicans would be beside themselves.

scum, all of them.

oh - that is superb

I see Trump has already employed a campaign manager for running for a second term

Don't fuck it up again America!

his approval is at like 34%, so.... the bigger thing is for the democrats not to fuck up. they shouldn't have lost 2016 to begin with, but there's still no clear strategy, messaging, or replacement front runners. they're a fucking limp noodle of a party. the republicans are evil but at least they're organized, ffs.

I'm anticipating republicans to be destroyed in the midterms, but 2020 will likely be more up for grabs than people think.

The DNC is a sham. I have no faith in the Democratic party whatsoever.

Trump isn't going to grow his support so he needs to be keeping his base enthused which he appears to be doing. They still love him for all the reasons everyone else loathe the man. The economy is strong whether that's down to him is a mute point but President's normally get a second term in such circumstances although we are still 2 1/2 years off the election so a lot can change. I hope the Dems don't make the mistake of going down the celebrity route and pick a credible politician to take him apart, from the limited amount I've seen her on Bill Maher I like Elizabeth Warren.

Warren didn't have any interest in running last time out and I'm not sure she will this time. She's similar to Bernie Sanders in policy and in the fact that the Democratic Party thinks she is too far left to win a general election.

Joe Biden is supposedly gearing up to run under the Dem ticket which wouldn't be awful. No idea if Bernie wants to give it another go. Interestingly, the Republican ticket may be contested from the outset; there's word the Ohio Governor John Kasich will challenge Trump. He's a very sensible man so it will be interesting to see how that scenario might play out.

Kasich doesn't stand a chance, though it would be great to see him run since it would all but guarantee a democrat victory by splintering the conservative vote. Will never happen though.

I can't imagine a scenario in which we don't see Warren come into the fold in 2020.

Are you ready for a female president? I mean, you did OK with that black guy but A WOMAN?! Surely not!

we could've had a female president last time if the democrats had run anyone other than hillary. and even she, being as terrible a politician as she is, got more votes.

so yeah I'd say so.

Take it from us, it normally works out pretty badly.

Maybe not, but if there's any moderate conservatives left (and Kasich could even get some moderate lefties) he would energize them.

I like him a lot. You're probably not wrong, tho.
