Traore the enigma

Can't speak for others on that. But you can appreciate what we have now while understanding that performances, both on the pitch and on the bench, like those against Huddersfield aren't good enough for where we want to be. In fact, the two go hand in hand.

But sometimes you have to look at it from the perspective that we are a promoted side. There hasn't been a team who has performed how we have after coming up in over ten years. And before that, only Forest and Newcastle in the 90s (when the financial difference was a lot closer) have come up and taken the league by storm. There were always going to be bad performances.

I'd actually rather we show we can compete with the best teams and it be that what we need to improve on is breaking down the lower teams. Obviously, it was a poor performance against Huddersfield but it happens. We have players still like Bennett, Coady and Doherty in our team who have done fantastically but are not top six players (or should not even be top haLf players really).

Right. I will speak again about my reaction in game in that thread.

What pissed me off, what absolutely boiled my piss, was not actually the result in there. It was the "oh woe is me, we are fucking shite" stuff. After THREE minutes. Against Huddersfield. And then criticism of ME for saying we could turn it round and win, when it was NIL-NIL AT HALF TIME.

Matchday threads ARE cunt soup. And most of the chefs of that soup can't see it.

Equally, the language you use makes it seem that anyone who levels any sort of criticism at the team or coaching staff is somehow less worthy of engaging with or supporting the team than you are.

No, I'm fine with criticism. We were awful against Huddersfield.

I'm not fine with how this forum talks about our players and manager at times.

Don't disagree with anything you've said tbf. I was actually just thinking to myself of Manchester United losing to Blackburn under Sir Alex in DdG's first season.

Calling for Nuno's head is one thing. But saying that Nuno got his tactics wrong on that occasion does not seem outlandish to me.

What tends to bother me is the 'pathetic' and 'Nuno needs to look at himself' stuff the minute something goes wrong. It was excruciating during the bad run (of SIX games) and people were starting to doubt whether Moutinho/Patricio really 'wanted it'.

Then call that stuff out more specifically. Don't throw everyone who posts in those threads under the bus. Emotions are always going to ride high in those threads as things are happening in real time.

That wasn't what was being said though was it?

Some of those comments were made the day after. You can try and justify it all you like but it's not working.

Like I said before, if I had someone behind me at the game who was moaning non-stop and being eternally negative I would tell them to shut the fuck up.

Honestly, I don't know what some people want and I don't know what they get out of watching Wolves. Because they don't enjoy it, on any level.

Our efforts against Huddersfield this season have been the biggest blight on an otherwise excellent campaign.

You get a free pass for one fuck up. You get pilloried for two against the same team especially when 66% of Huddersfield wins this season are against Wolves.

If you don't like the passion, the angst, the comment, the complaining then comment and or stay off the thread. I love to see fellow fans writing what I am feeling. Fucking bring it on. Verdict threads when we are a bit calmer fair enough. Match day threads are there partly to vent. Vent on.

Caveat. I hate really detest the personal insults. Its unnecessary. Everyone has a right to their opinion and it should be countered appropriately not with insults. This is not some villa forum.

hmmm

Most of the first sixty minutes of that game I got attacked for suggesting that a little positivity and support might not go amiss.

That's not what I thought what you were doing. I thought You were defensive. Your posts ended with comments like Jesus wept iirc and some of us including me, took the piss. Any negative comment seemed to get your gander up and, if I may say, disproportionate to the actual posdt.

We were crap
Neves did have a stinker
We lost to Huddersfield, again
I reserve the right to appropriately whinge about us doing that.

Soz x

Only fair to hold my hand up and so that last bit was me, although it's a misquote, what I said was it is fair to start to question whether they want to be here. The former had just let a gutless goal in against Cardiff which still angers me now and the latter was in poor form and had become invisible. Happy to confirm I was typing bollocks.

Fair play TT. Not a dig at you, by the way mate. You definitely weren't the only person I would have seen say that, as I couldn't remember who had made comments in that vein.

I still maintain that although it's weak from Patricio it's a blatant foul!

So I’ve looked back and I don’t think the first 70 minutes of the Huddersfield thread are that bad. It got a bit negative after that because we were playing really badly and showed no signs of that changing - plus a couple of people were arguing for the sake of arguing. There have been far worse threads than that this season, it just seems an odd one to use to say how negative those threads are.

And I think everyone agrees this is an amazing season, best manager ever and best team in most of our lifetimes, but the match threads are reviews of one game, not the whole season - if we’re playing badly it’s always going to be a bit negative, whilst if we’re playing well it will be pretty positive, because that’s what people on it are talking about.

But we play well and it's still as bad.

I invited people to look at the Everton and West Ham threads to disprove that. Funnily enough there was no response. Because they're absolutely full of whining when we were playing superbly.

I'll have to have a look at the West Ham one, didn't see any of that of that as I (thankfully) don't get any reception in Molineux. Don't think I read the Everton one either. I'll have a look after the City game.

It's the language used though, isn't it. And it happens every single game.

Look, I've spent 31 years watching this football club. We have been fucking shit for most of it. We now have a legitimately brilliant team with some incredible footballers. The way some people talk about us is disgraceful. Supposed supporters who should probably find something better to do, as they evidently derive no joy at all from watching us (at home, on an illegal stream).

I don't care who it riles, I'm not having it.
Directly quote some of the comments you’re referring to and post them in here so we can have a look at this ‘ridiculous negativity’ that has caused you to refer to people as “cunts” then.

Because all I’m seeing at the moment is a lot of willy waving and boys club back patting. You show us some examples of these comments that have got you so riled up, and we’ll have a discussion about them.

still arguing about this? good god. we need a 'whinging about whinging' megathread. poor Traore.
