Factor 1) A manager having to cover for his bosses as they sell their top scorer and their fans are already close to maxing out on hatred towards them.

Truthfully - a club that HAD to sell Clarke because they had serious financial shite. However, they asked Leon to put in a transfer request so that they were keeping the fans onside and making the player look the villain.
