Ticket Prices 2021-22

They came in and built up a huge amount of goodwill over a number of seasons. The gullible, myself included, bought into it.

They smashed all that up in less than six months. It will take them years to rebuild even a tenth of it.

One Pack? Fuck off.

I think if they lose ST holders because it's too much, a price reduction in the future won't get them back.

Once you stop going and find other things to do, it breaks the routine.

It's an unnecessary risk

This is already true of returning 'post' pandemic, some will be nervous of crowds and/or the delta variant or will have had their eyes opened at how much money they have from not going during lockdown (not just tickets, travel food and beer too) and found something better to do. Likewise other people self employed or on furlough will have felt the pinch with reduced incoming.

Sure, there's lots of excitement at going back but I'm not sure its a gimme and then you chuck in price increases on top.

I wouldn't give Clark a shred of credit for the DD debacle, not when you see his wider body of work, the guy is a slimeball, who step after step is idolised the fucking Glazers.

People will buy into it for a while yet if results/football are good. I have very limited faith in that actually happening.

The daft thing is, the time to cash in was 2019. We'd gone winning the league -> qualifying for Europe and making an FA Cup semi final. If you wanted to rinse people for tickets then do it then, you're at peak fervour. Who wouldn't want to be part of an atmosphere like United in the cup? Really ramp it up on the European ones. They didn't, they played fair, an increase on STs but a relatively modest one and I wouldn't call the EL tickets *cheap* but they were an acceptable price.

They're doing this after we've been shite for a year, we're not really spending any money and we're ripping everything up in favour of God knows what.

The problem is you've got quite a few "people moaned when we were in the championship, well you've gotta pay if you want to be in the big leagues" types on Twitter and there seems to be getting more of them, lending credence to these rises.
Yep, I was really surprised to see how many are practically applauding it...

Echo what most have said already, shocking prices and during a transitional period that's far from certain to be an improvement it's a potentially very toxic route to go down

So new sth’s have to be members and pay an extra £20 to pay by direct debit. They are milking people for all that they can get. Disgraceful.

If it's the law of supply and demand then I think they'll learn in 2022/3 that they've misread the demand. Traditional fans will fall into 3 buckets.
a) Pay anything
b) Choose not to pay based on perceived vfm
c) Can't afford to pay.

If those prices become the norm I think they'll find there's more bs and cs than they think there is and their 10k to backfill don't really exist
I'm a member essentially just to be on the STH waiting list. mrs jelly was made redundant 2 years ago. thankfully, she found another job 2 months ago (zero hours mind). Had she not found that job, I'd have not renewed the membership. As she did, I renewed.
No idea now why I bothered, as at those prices, if offered a STH, I'd struggle to afford it this year, let alone next.
Boozad and Trips have both highlighted that this prices out families attending football at molineux together.

oh, and an additional. I kinda feel that the thing I have missed most, is pre and post match experiences. Yes, the football is a great experience, but actually, I suspect I might not be alone in missing the people I had such experiences with more, than the football itself.

If prices stay like this I am going to have to face the fact that I’m not going to be able to take either of my kids to watch games in the future. I’ll probably barely go to any games myself.

Modern football is all about the fans getting fleeced at every opportunity while players earn obscene amounts of money. It’s shit.

It's nothing to do with players' wages. Leicester have a way higher wage bill than we do, look at their ticket prices.

We just think we've got a captive market when actually, we don't. The consequence of having fucking idiots at executive level.

Agree with this completely - I do have a community down here, but it is (on the whole) of a similar age profile to me.

Coming up there and meeting others of less mature years (by a lot in some cases even if it's only behaviour rather than age :)) is really good to do. If I could remember what it felt like to be 35 then it's probably like that!

They are in for a fucking shock when next seasons STH renewal window comes round.

Everyone you meet up here are 50 plus....

Just had a look in on the Mix and feeling is 99% condemnation with a couple fishing for bites.

Think things are going to turn very bad, very quick if we don't start well.

If you had a ST in the Steve Bull with a rebate this season and then renew next year's price with todays price its a 43% increase.

Think about that.

They were wanging on about the Red Bull model in those videos (I hate that model as a concept, but that's just me, on you go).

You know why Leipzig are successful and get packed houses every week, Jeff? Because they hired the best young coach in Europe, invested in the squad and are now continually in the top three. They didn't appoint the ex-assistant manager of Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea and give Patrick Cutrone another go.

If they want to charge premium prices, we need much more than what we're offering. I doubt a single person on here would confidently predict we'll finish top half this season.

I should imagine there will be some ST availability in the next couple of seasons.

That's a hell of a price increase, looks like they are going down the route of increasing match day revenue by just charging more rather than increasing availability (ie add more seats)

The clubs on a knife edge in terms of relations with fans as it is, this is more than testing that relationship.

Matchday £10×19x3000 = £570k
Season Tickets (ex 2021/2 existing sth increase)£100×22500 = £2.25m
Total per season £2.8m
Seasons needed to buy a Fabio - 12.5
Weeks of Moutinho's wages - 28
Places in league table - 1

Hitting the fans for little material difference, so don't spin me (not here), the 'it's needed to be competitive line'. Anyone who falls for that is just gullible

It costs me £45 on the train from Nottingham, pretty much double that now for a ticket as well and I'm looking at £90 before I've even bought a pint.

I won't be coming to watch as much as I thought I was.

Even when I move to Birmingham later this year it's hard to justify those prices.
