Ticket Prices 2021-22

I hope all the Mexican tourists will sing all our songs because this will change the demographic in a way that will be fatal to the atmosphere.

Used to come back from uni and go to whatever game I could back in like 2010-2014. Was always pretty easy to get a ticket and it was like £15-£20, happy days. Your now in a situation where people who can’t legitimately get a ST because uni, working abroad whatever but still get the opportunity to come to games are going to have to pay £50 a time (none of the other seats will be available) and then they are going to get killed financially if they want to get back in as a STH.

Fair enough there are some bandwagon jumpers and they “can pay if they want as they couldn’t be arsed when we were shit”. But this ignores the fact that the “legacy fans” prices will likely rise in line and the other people who gave up their STH Temporarily are buggered.

The waiting list might look big but it will shrink to nothing next year. I love my football but upwards of £600 and I'm out. If that happens I probably won't pick and chose games, I'll bin it altogether.

Nope, can't work it out, unless you've gone full meltdown at the prices and just started hitting keys on the keyboard!

The prices are a fucking disgrace

I’ve edited! Asda delivery came whilst I was typing and that happened!

I get the "bandwagon jumping" when we went from being a shit Championship team to something a bit tasty very quickly.

We're now not even as good a team as we were two or three years ago, who is jumping on this bandwagon?

We've still got time for a "Wolves in u-turn over 2022-23 Season Ticket Prices" story.

I get your point here and am not trying to disprove it as I think it holds water, but I will say that no matter how much we declined last season, we are still seen in the US as a way, way bigger deal than we were last time we were in the Prem. The number of people stateside who even know the club exists has to have increased exponentially.

Add Raul to the mix and we're perhaps the most talked about Premiership club outside of the "Big 6" or whatever the fuck they're calling themselves these days. Even as a midtable side, I'd say that our sphere of influence globally still has a ton of room to grow and is doing so at non-insignificant rate currently.

IMO.

Global influence doesn't fill seats though.

I'm saying that people aren't going to flock to fill the gaps if existing STHs walk in 12 months because those prices are ludicrous. There's no novelty factor and we aren't even a good team at the moment.

Knowing what people here (the US) are willing to pay to see bad NBA and NFL teams...

Let's just say that I don't necessarily have faith in people recognizing an unreasonable expense when they see one.

Well they are hoping the same people are still on it. They’ll soon find out!

It's different though isn't it. Most top sports teams in the states are the only ones in the state. Then you've got they're all in massive cities compared to Wolves, so you could afford 10000 people to say stuff it as you're more than likely gonna replace them. Won't happen here.

Just seen some of the comments below your Twitter post. Don't know what annoys me more people who will sign up for anything or the club who take advantage of that

You can't help some people. I do think they're actually in the minority here though.

The worst was the "well done Wolves/Vinny" stuff with the new renewal prices. Er, no, it's more fucking money for no reason.

Wow. Those prices are outrageous. It will have to be a very successful season on the pitch this year to try and justify those sort of prices as renewals next year.

Have renewed this year, but given the increase (& the new STH are paying £60 more for the privilege of being in my seat, which on the outskirts of the Upper BW does at least still have a discount for old gits) this may be the last time I do so as the rest of the costs I face are large.

Unless this is a breakthrough season into Champions league place or a cup win may well give it up next time & just have a membership & take any game I can get a ticket for.

It's a hefty commitment & I do need to see a return value of some kind.

I think if they lose ST holders because it's too much, a price reduction in the future won't get them back.

Once you stop going and find other things to do, it breaks the routine.

It's an unnecessary risk
Yep, spot on. I was already taking a look at ST prices for Telford this coming season, due to rumoured price rises here, wanting to go to football with my lad and probably not going to be able to get a ticket with him here, and a friend with a son the same age as mine looking at Telford and mentioning it.

If the prices for 22/23 are at the level being asked of new ST holders this year, I will give up my Wolves one and go to lower league football for my fix

Seems like they have been benchmarking other clubs fan engagement as well, alot of those fans despise their owners. Can see the same happening here over the next few years if they're not careful.
