I too hate this prom bollox, when did this come about? - I left school wrapped my tie round the nearest lampost and covered in lighter fluid, got my shirt written all over by the girls (who wants a lads signature on their shirt) and then got royally hammered, playing dirty pints laced with laxatives with people down by the Mitre

I think a few weeks later we went back to have a drink with the teachers in the sports hall, which was alright as it goes, nice to get some good honest advice of the teachers before you go off and ignore it for the next 10 years

We had a party after our A-Levels - basically we all got in a marquee a couple of weeks after A-Levels finished and got battered (took about 4 WKDs in those days).

I did go to an all boys' school though so there was no chance of a slow dance.

After I left school, I went home, had my tea and played my brother and my dad at darts for most of the evening with some Beatles and Pink Floyd CDs playing on the stereo.

Mainly because I loathed my school and the people who went there.

Got utterly Paddy'd when I left college mind you. That was a classic night.

(He was there a fair few years before I was mind you).

I'm with Langers on this. I hated the wankers I went to school with. My nurse student friends though were and are still ace...we all passed out of nursing college in a very literal sense.

I have two senior school friends I sort of keep in touch with. Both decent blokes but the exception to the rule. Most of the earlier friends are from infants school. Most of the people who went to my senior school were unadulterated shits.

Saturday was 15 years since my Mum died. In a few years time I will have lived more of my life without her in it than with her which is sad

I've decided, I'm not gonna be sad cos I no like it and me dad wouldn't want me to be anyway. To all those that have lost parents , or one parent, I suppose all we can do is be thankful and grateful for the time that we did have them for .
