Those figures are far from accurate. For one we did not make a profit on Andrew Surman!!

Like I said, the results papered over the cracks. Sunderland we got lucky, Arsenal was an inspired Hennessey performance and profligacy from Arsenal, Norwich and Bolton we were $#@!ing awful and it was failing to win (or even look like winning) those games that led to us being obvious relegation candidates.
obviou
No one is suggesting the figures are accurate to the exact pound but it's patently obvious our net spend was no where near what others are implying and was around 10 million per season which is regarded by most clubs as chicken feed. You cant just say results paper over cracks, that applies to all teams near the bottom who have cracks galore. The truth is we would have had a fighting chance of staying up instead of throwing in the white towel like we did , what does it matter whether it was an inspired Hennessey performance or not lol. If we weren't bottom 3 before a transfer window why would we just give up on 3 years hard work and say ok we aren't playing well after less than half a season so despite us being not in the relegation zone dont sign anyone as we're doomed1

If you don't understand my point on relegation then I'll assume you didn't watch Wolves from about mid-September onwards that season, the season peaked after 3 games and it was a long slippery slope for there on in.

If you're not going to put in the effort to prove me wrong about the transfer fees then we may as well end this here, goodbye.

I've more things to do on a working day than post every clubs accounts from 2012 but if you want to believe most clubs in the English premier league spent less than 10 million pounds during 3 calendar years each season it's probably best to end it short of discussing dragons and flying pigs

09/10 we spent £11.2m, nothing back into the coffers (or very little)
10/11 we spent £15m, £800k back so net spend of £14.2m
11/12 we spent £12.2m, £1.55m back so net spend of £10.65m
Over the three years in the Premier League we spent £36.05m net bringing in
Kevin Doyle
Nenad Milijas
Andrew Surman
Marcus Hahnemann
Greg Halford
Ronald Zubar
Stefan Maierhofer
Steven Fletcher
Stephen Hunt
Steven Mouyokolo
Jelle van Damme
Jake Cassidy
Adam Hammill
Adriano Basso
Jamie O'Hara
Roger Johnson
Dorus De Vries
Eggert Jonsson

And the other Molineux Way poster turns up now, brilliant.

You say we spent 36 million over 3 season instead of 30 meaning a net spend of 12 million instead of 10 but according to Deutch we spent 60 million lol. Even these figures of 36 million are over inflated as you mention we recruited just 800 k for players in our second season which is untrue as shackell van damme, iwelumo and others took the figure well over that into millions not thousands. How anyone can say we spent north of 60 million though Lord knows

You don't know how things work on here yet, do you BlueSkies?
Im not interested in secret handshakes on a forum TBH , it tends to be a pattern on this thread of people throwing their toys out of the pram when they get rattled. Thus far we have had posters claiming we spent north of 60 million in 3 seasons when all facts show otherwise, people suggesting we will match palace in wages if we got promoted offering 65 grand a week contracts; infact all that's missing are tales of walking on water and water to wine but maybe that's still to come?

Ah - the classic WUM one-two. This is getting tedious now.

What is tedious is a forum assuming anyone that isn't part of the old established guard that apparently exists on here is a "WUM".
I haven't a clue who Deja wolf is but it's becoming increasingly obvious there are a small number of bitter individuals who are unwilling to listen to any opinion other than what the general consensus is. One of your regulars has just posted erroneous information about us spending 60 million plus in our 3 premiership seasons yet this is unchallenged. I post it was around 30 million ( half of this) and one of your regulars seizes on it like a wild dog saying it was infact 36 million. If the forum is so much of a clique where other users are pounced upon why not just close it to new members and chat amongst yourselves where you can pat yourselves on the back at how great you are shouting WUM to anyone or anything you see close to logging on. It's quite sad really

"it tends to be a pattern ....... of people throwing their toys out of the pram when they get rattled"

So.... you do know how it works.:icon_lol:

The season you mention Big Chris and Shackell leaving....
Shackell = £300k
Iwelumo = £500k
Dan Jones = £0
Mendez-Laing = £0
Friend = £0
Little = £0
Surman = undisclosed

Someone please close this thread down. It's appalling.

Wild dog?? Now who is being insulting?
I have actually gone to the trouble of looking for the figures in order to clarify Wolves spending and kind of back your point although your estimates of how much we recouped for those leaving are wildly out of proportion to the actual figure

What about Van Damme, we sold him for 2.5 million?

Having rechecked the "source" for my figuers, fees for Milijas (about £2.6m) and Stefan Maierhofer (about £1.8m) are not included so net spend is now up to £40.45m

jesus what a place, theres someone now asking for the thread to be closed . You cant help but laugh

The same as we paid for him...Net = £0

You didn't jump on the omission of the Hoff and Milijas transfers and you haven't apologised for calling me a "wild dog" either.

Well it's not a good guideline when the figures are 50% out...

I can say results papered over the cracks because they did. As Mark says you obviously didn't watch us that season if you could see how poor we were.

I never said we should adopt the approach of not signing anyone. We have no idea what that reason was. You're using the "we didn't spend the money as Morgan is a tight arse" as it fits your agenda. It could be partly true, but it could also be that people didn't want to join, whether that be the manager, the current players, the dressing room harmony etc.

Neither of us know the answer so try and peddle one possibility as fact is just a little silly.
