The Video Games Thread II - The Resurrection

LA Noire looks like the next must own game for me. It's made by Rockstar which is never a bad thing.

I tried doing a couple of races but even though i was giving the driver cars i won races with reasonably comfortably he was making a right hash of things. Constantly spinning all over the place.

Theres no better way of earning big money than the seasonal events, guess i'll slowly work through B-spec a bit at a time when i dont fancy concentrating enough to race myself.

I assume you have a "hot" driver? Hot drivers can pass really well, but make poor decisions with the throttle/turns. Cold drivers can set faster lap times and are more stable, but are terrible at passing. I had a driver all the way in "cool" and he was maddening. It's especally bad when you've got a really hot driver and he's also running hot mid-race, just compounds his suckiness. I've found the best driver personality to be slightly hot. Just a few notches above the center.

This does look good, I'm sure I will be spending many a night on this after its release in May!

Will make a change from Football Manager!

LA Noir - sell it to me.

If you say 'Red Dead Goodfellas', you've sold it to me.

If you say 'GTA Capone', you probably haven't.

I have a couple of Drivers, started a new one when the first one was getting on my tits, and they're both pretty much bang in the middle of hot/cold maybe a touch on the hot side if either way. I just hate some of the things they do, i entered one into the Pick-up challenge in the amateur races, theres a race at Daytona and i knew the truck i had was faster than any of the competitors so he couldn't lose right? Wrong, he never was at full throttle at no point in the race and kept braking on the corners at a NASCAR oval, i was so tempted to throw the controller through the screen at that stage. Now i just find myself giving them ridiculously overpowered cars so theres no way they can lose.

RANT. Why arent there people on the Call of duty classic multiplayer..... RANT OVER

Its probably cause its 8 years old and 6 Call of Dutys on...

No no it's reletively new as its a remake adding multiplayer into it. So I'm astonished there's no old skool on there.

Maybe they find the other Call of dutys better then?

Its a cracking game, no doubt. Others dont think that...we move on.

The original Call of Duty was great, complete with Stalingrad mission out of 'Enemy At The Gates' and the Brecourt Manor mission straight from 'Band of Brothers'. I loved that game.

Brecourt was a great map along with Carentan and a multitude of custom maps, but for me Pavlov was favourite.

So this classic's a faithful remake? Stand alone or expansion?

360 market place 1200 mspoints. Both the campaign and multiplayer.

So about £10 in real money?

Shame, I'd probably buy it for a fiver but probably not worth it, especially if the servers aren't populated...

You cant get a game for love nor money. Shame because those maps are brilliant.

It just lacks a huge populated area with plenty of kick offs like Fallout 3 had with the Washington DC area and the metro system.

The endless tunnels in Fallout 3 really annoyed me.

I'm enjoying New Vegas a lot more - better story, better quests. Hopefully some more DLC to come quite soon.

LA Noir the one 'must buy' on my list this year. (Oh...besides Skyrim)!

I ended up constantly lost and walking round in circles in the underground system in Fallout 3!! Still loved it though. Nowhere near finishing New Vegas.
