The Video Games Thread II - The Resurrection

I tried Fallout 3 and New Vegas but they just dont do it for me, far too much nit picking with tiny little details on such a massive game, i found it pretty impossible to get into either and could probably count on one hand the number of times i've played both combined.

I'm guessing you were no big fan of Oblivion either?

Never played Oblivion, i dont spend as much time these days playing either Xbox or PS3 for massive periods of time so i tend to prefer games where i can just pick up and play a little at a time, football games and racing games seem to be all i really play lately.

Oblivion is my favourite game of all time. That time line is from my first Speccy at 19 (1976) up to the present day.

I've played it three times on the PC and am now playing it on the PS3 (inbetween RDR and FIFA10). Not the same build, not doing the same things, avoiding the main quest but having a bloody good time!

If Skyrim is half as good then I'm sorted until 2014!

But you can pick up Oblivion and play for 30 minutes and put it down again. Give it a go!

That looks absolutely stunning. Best trailer I've seen for a long, long time.

Absolutely breathtaking trailer...for a video game, ridiculous!

The reversed backwards - forwards trailer. Apparently the other trailer (the one i posted yesterday) had people complaining about how hard it was to follow so IGN have put the trailer in sequence. Personally i thought the original was more dramatic, but there you go...

Idiots....I followed it quite well and it was eery as well..

OK my FIFA 11 team got utterly ridiculous and I had to start a new one...

Well that's his loss now isn't it! ; )

Defense in the game is easier than attacking, so I took one off and added a 2nd striker for good measure. I can make far more use of another man up front than I can with another defender twiddling his thumbs. With that midfield the ball doesn't get to my box very often.

Oh well, it's all moot. Now I'm running with the regular guys. I did buy Ganso, Neymar, Rodwell, Ninis, and Sakho, however.... Here we go again. I play this game far too often.

I've won 11 in a row on FIFA, conceding 3. Not quite sure how.

How long you had to play to get them players in. I have only brought Stiensson from Bolton and half way through my player manager career in fust season..

I bought Ganso, Neymar, Rodwell, Ninis, and Sakho in my first season with the fresh new team. Granted, I sold most of the wolves... After that it's easy. I only keep about 4-5 reserves.

You buy guys that aren't great yet but have really high potential in your first year or two, then build them up. That way you don't spend much and quickly build the roster with quality players. In the meantime you're getting tons of money for winning the league, cups, europe, etc. Then you can start buying really expensive players and selling off your lower graded players every year. That team up there was something like 10 seasons in. If you just want to try building a roster you could always make a separate save game and sim through half the season. :D
