Really liked the ribble configurator - I’ve added a brooks saddle too.

Take a while to break in, but once they do, they're supposed to be super comfy.

I figured I’m going to spend enough time on it I best get a good one.

Have it in my mind to do a decent trip when I get it, see if I can get to Wales and maybe stay over a night.

Just make sure if you're going to Wales you check before if you need to quarantine going in...

Some beautiful roads in Wales. You could stay in a Bothy if you're going off the beaten track.

Stacked it turning into the driveway at work this morning. Must have been some black ice on the turn in, bike went from underneath me and I landed on my elbow and hip. Some lovely road rash and a whopper of a bruise forming at the moment. Gonna be sore in the morning 😣

Ouch! Not surprised, could barely stay on my feet walking the dog this morning.
Does cycle kit come with armour these days? i.e. Knee, shoulder, elbow, hip pads similar to motorcycle gear

Your name is Geraint Thomas and I claim my five pounds.

I'd be wary of listening to any in-ear stuff as it could cancel the noise on the road which you may need on a bike!

If it's not in-ear, fill your boots, no different to listening to a car radio.

At £100 you should look for MIPS helmets and any one shot helmet should be EN1080 certified.

I'd never wear anything in ear. Not just because it drowns out vital traffic noise etc, but it also makes me feel a bit less well balanced.

I've often been tempted by the bone conduction stuff, but I can't justify the price.

Likewise have no plan to listen to anything in ear (it’s difficult enough when running). The ones linked above have small above ear speakers which seem to have good reviews. I’d love bone conducting ones - I tried some of the Bose sunglasses with them in and they were excellent - but I imagine any helmet with them in will be way more than I’m willing to pay.

I was also very wary of having in-ear phones while cycling, but have been doing it for a while now and it works great. I only use one of the in-ear phones and volume on the lower side. After working on a bike for so many hours, I needed the "distraction" provided by music or phone calls here and there.

Would like to test that helmet though.

Finally set up the indoor trainer again on Sunday. Currently trying out Rouvy on a 14 day free trial. So far, so good. The AR video is smooth and pretty immersive. Resistance changes on the trainer are natural felling too.

Could have been, if it had happened while I was bombing downhill. Luckily it occurred at the beginning of my ride. Had to get a taxi back though.

How much was your turbo, Machin? One day, when people ae allowed out and I can get an electrician to look at sorting out the wiring in the garage, maybe I'll look at getting something different to a standard resistance trainer. Or at least some speakers and lights so I don't look like a lycra-clad sex offender with a head torch.

I bought it second hand from a mate for £100 a couple of years ago. It's the Tacx Flow Smart, so nothing special. It's a noisy fucker!

Seeing as we have the same bike, do you have any issues getting your rear wheel out at all? Mine is a real pain, to the point where I think I'm going to damage something trying to *encourage* it out.
