Looks like Lacazette to Arsenal is on. £44m.

They can get better players for that money..Wenger must be Keen though

Strange after he said he wanted CL football.

Colleague of mine is a Lyon fan - he thinks Lacazette is the second coming.

That would be a great signing for Arsenal.

Lacazette would be stonking over here. Absolutely stonking. As long as Arsenal don't lose Alexis to pay for him.

I now expect him to be amazing [emoji1]

He's an exceptional player, don't get me wrong, but he hasn't been physically tested the way the Premier League's best defenders will test him.

Of course, you could have said much the same about Aguero when he came to City, so it's definitely possible Lacazette will be a huge success.

Will Hughes to Watford done deal. £4.5m plus add-ons. That's a steal at that price, although it makes you wonder why Derby let him go so cheap.

Paulinho confirms that Barcelona sent him an offer. Says he is torn between the prestige of playing for Barcelona and the very happy life plus guaranteed playtime that he has in China.

As I said when this rumour came up last week, Hughes is more highly rated outside of Derby than in it. Although there is no denying his talent, many feel that he hides in matches and is part of a team of serial bottle jobs. Rowett said he's looking for players who can pull the team together and dig in when things aren't going well. A move is best for all concerned and I think the PL will suit him better than the Championship

Still a very low price though really.

Doherty syndrome in a nutshell (although more Lg1 than PL)

No way, Hughes can actually turn it on when he wants to.

Absolutely. Also because he's not a big bruiser that football fans want to see, they want "pashun".

I'm not sure that's fair, people love watching Hazard, Wilshere and Scholes and they're hardly physical behemoths.

Wilshere gets all manner of stick!

I think Hughes has got out at the right time, Rowett's football isn't the most attractive (not criticism as he does get results). Plus I think he will be suited to Premier League which while it isn't brilliant is still a lot more technical than the shitfest that is the Championship

Bit surprised Bradley Dack has gone to Blackburn. I know his form has dipped a bit over the last year or so (doesn't help that Gillingham are utter shit), but I thought a Championship club would take a punt on him.
