So I get a phone call from the local Housing Association just after I finished work at lunchtime. "Would it be possible for one of their representatives to do a house visit at 5 this evening?" OK......
We have been bidding for houses since we got the Termination of Tenancy letter last month and we are now down to less than 28 days till the date our notice runs out.
One of the houses we bid on, we missed out on because we weren't in great enough need, however the person they offered it to has declined it because they have found somewhere already so the 28 days left boosted us into the "in urgent need" bracket so the visit was to do the financial checks and offer us the house!
We can expect the official letter of offer tomorrow and could have the keys in as little as 14 days! Fucking delighted!! :disco:

Be on best behaviour for the first 12 months - you'll be on an introductory tenancy for that amount of time. After 12 months, your tenancy gets upgraded & will be much more secure.

The Clarion Autumn Leaf Festival. Even Mr Penguin enjoys this
Locally we have the annual Dogwood festival, which is pretty cool, but after the hustle and bustle of work lately, decided to take a long weekend as it was our wedding anniversary yesterday, spent the day at home which was just nice, no work, no phone calls, no emails. Went out to a great Mexican place last night sat on the patio with the wife and kids for 2 hours watching the sun set and ended up bowling till midnight!
Quite a few round this way Ray, Shaker Woods one in Ohio is also a good one. Love em I do

A lovely Sunday - morning with a lie in & the papers, then the afternoon in glorious weather (sunny, but not too hot) at a bowls match.
Good competition and friendly opponents, with us drawing level on the last end after a keen tussle throughout the match (+ me playing better than I have at any other time this season).
A couple of beers to socialise after, then home for a nice bit of lamb/potatoes from the veg plot & various veg & a decent bottle of red.
For me that's a perfect day.
