Could go in the fitness thread, but here is as good as anywhere:
1st weekend of October I quietly decided to have a go at trying to not smoke. Have smoked for over 35 years & while never a heavy smoker, it has been an every day habit for a long time. I also realised all the "I'm not an addict" tropes I came out with (can give up when I want, it's a choice blah blah).
So, went cold turkey.
Quite pleased that I've gone 3 months without cracking. Noticed some small improvements already in my physical health, sense of smell & taste too. My sleep is better also. Was a little surprised it wasn't a bit harder tbh - after the first couple of days challenging the habit, it was...fine.
Small targets at first, go a day without, go 2 days without, get to the weekend, do a full week etc. I actually didn't realise I'd passed 3 months!
