Yep, tbf more younger people than I expected, pretty busy actually for mid week mid September.

This morning the missus decided she wanted to go to the seaside as we haven't got round to it so far this year, so off to Llandudno we went. Sunny and warm, it was a good day.
Can anything be so British?
Fish and chips sat on the sea wall,
Walk up the pier for a coffee,
Walk up the beach eating ice cream,
Fight with a couple of Gulls.

Really like Llandudno and normally have a drive to the top of the Great Orme as part of the day. Like Tredman I’ve not been this year but this was taken from the top last….

Birmingham was grey and miserable for most of the day.

I've never been to North Wales and was thinking of going there with the family. I may try and see if we can get to Llandudno next year.

Wow, never been to North Wales, that's a surprise to me for some reason. Depends where you live and your interests I suppose.
Llandudno is a very typical British seaside town but has managed to keep it's charm imo.
Not as run down as some apart from The Grand Hotel near the pier, which could do with some tidying.
If you're in that area, Betws y coed is worth a look, the scenery in Snowdonia is fabulous.

Wow, never been to North Wales, that's a surprise to me for some reason.

I never went on holidays to Wales as a kid or anything, up unitl the age of 10 my summer holiday was two weeks with the Grandparents in Sunderland every year and after that I was lucky enough to go abroad instead.

I've only ever been to Wales twice and one of those visits was for the Play Off Final! The other time was a trip to Barmouth as every one around here seems to go there so we thought we'd check it out. I thought it was a bit shit though.

There are definitely plenty of places in Wales I'd like to visit. I can't drive though (yet!) and my wife doesn't enjoy driving on holiday so we need to go to places you can get to on the train really.

If you go to Bala not only do you get to see where @Kenny and Dave Edwards strutted their dog chasing after a balloon skillz, but some of the scenery that way is outstanding.

If you were to go to South Wales then Tenby and Saundersfoot are beautiful, we went there last year (and then on to Aberystwyth, which is a bit more rustic but has a lot of fond childhood memories for me and we had a great time).

Wales can probably be a bit tricky if you don't drive, not sure how good the rail links are.
Interestingly I've been to Barmouth many times and actually quite like it, guess we like different things.
As DW said, in South Wales, Tenby and Saundersfoot are lovely.

Our school had (in fact still has) a property near Barmouth and at the end of Year 7 all pupils from that year go there for a week. Field trips etc.

On the Wednesday they gave us a free afternoon to do what we wanted in Barmouth itself. I imagine they thought along the lines of exploring the town, maybe picking out any historical landmarks or interesting sights.

They were less than impressed when the answer to "what did you do, Dan" was "I went down the arcade and played Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat". They fucking should have been impressed, I was battering the locals as I had the games at home on Megadrive and knew all the special moves. It was a tour de force of early 90s arcade play.

Yeah Aberdovey is good, for me it's a day visiting place and if TD doesn't have personal transport it might be quiet?

If you go to Aberystwyth, the beach is shit - one of those crappy stone ones - but not far away you have Borth (also on the train line) which fits the bill better or for an even better spot, Ynyslas (a taxi there from Borth wouldn't cost very much).

So stay in Aber and travel out as necessary.

One of the best things about not going to games much anymore (as in 'hardly ever') is that the Wolves result has very little impact on my mood if I'm doing something worthwhile!

When we lost 2-6 to Chelsea I was having an awesome time in the sunshine relaxing in some bars in Kreuzberg. Had a smashing day.
