The Things You Are HAPPY About Thread.

I'm happy about my job offer I got today! Move back up to Warwickshire nearer family, working in a job I want a long term career in; with one of my ideal companies, in the right industry...my jigsaw came together today, finally!

Speaking of Jobs, I have applied for a new Job today. Don't know if I'll get it but I am happy to try and move on with my working career.

What job?

A marcomms role, in the non profit/humanitarian sector, working for Rotary on these isles. An organisation I already devote a lot of time too on an unpaid basis for one of its younger projects (I'm only 25...which shocks most people when they picture a Rotary club in their head!). It's perfect for me in so many ways.

Congrats jlovatt! I started working in the voluntary sector after graduating. I got to management after 3 years & regularly people used to question if I was hving them on about my role. It seems as a nation we don't expect young people to be engaged in the voluntary/charitable sector for some reason.

Stan, any news yet?

Finally , finally got the hang of my cycling shoes and their clips . It no longer takes me 10 minutes pissing around trying to ' latch on ' !!

Nope nothing.

Although I'm less bothered now that the missus has gotten the ball rolling with her job as it gives us a bit of focus for the year where as last week I was stuck in a depressing cycle of Uni work and being in a call centre which was doing my head in!

It's my little boy's birthday today. He's got a ukelele for his present and bloody LOVES it. Feeling a lot better today (and crucially not chundering every 10 minutes) so should have a nice day with the family.

Sonos and Napster - flaming awesome - I still can't get my head around Napster - for £10 a month, I can download any of 15 million songs onto my iPad, my iPhone, my lad's iPod touch, and play them whenever and wherever - what is the catch? Well, apart from helping in the demise of HMV anyway.

With Napster, what happens when you stop? Do all the songs on your iPod/Phone stop working?

Happy that WolfHunting has patience and is doing his best to explain things to me in a way I can understand ( ish ! )

One day , I WILL be able to post a picture of my dinner on the cooking thread !! :)

Happy that I am signing the lease today on a really cool apartment with a good mate. We are moving into a round tower on the banks of the river liffey, big bedrooms overlooking the water, spacious living room with cool art on the walls, modern kitchen, a balcony and the winning point is the roof garden. A proper playboy pad!

The fact that my weekend starts this afternoon :)

Seems strange I'm posting this in here but I didn't get the job I applied for.

However since applying things have moved on a bit for me and I now know that should my other half get the job she has applied to I will be leaving Nottingham in September anyway meaning I would have had to leave this job after 9 months or faced an awkward commute - so all in all I'm not really too bothered by it.

I have now found a graduate scheme that I can apply too that is based in pretty much every location across the country so I'm hoping I can get myself in a position to gain a job there instead which will, hopefully, suit the situation I find myself in come May.

Just learned my first full song on the ukelele - Imagine by John Lennon. Sounds ace, though odd as I play it quicker so it sounds quite cheerful.

Felt shit all day so that's cheered me up.
