From a £50 "gamble" one Sunday afternoon 2 and a half years ago I am about to enter a very exciting period and I won't be taking the journey on my own. Chuffed that someone backs my vision, hard work and confidence and is not only helping out but joining the venture.

Good for you- wish you every success. My son runs his own business with his wife , backed by his parents in law and is also joint licensee of his local pub so I admire anyone who goes it on their own. Keep it up and good luck.

Had my 3 month review at work tonight and it went pretty well. They said they are happy with my performance, interraction w guests, timekeeping, attitude and wine knowledge (hic*). I need to work on my standards and my knowledge of the hotels values and vision, but they told me not to think about leaving as they are going to put me on a development course which will hopefully see me become a manager with the next 12 months!

And also, I made 75 euro in tips tonight which is slamming considering its January and we are very quiet. A good day then.....

My better half's application for her dream job has been sent off won't find out whether she has been successful until May after interviews in March/April.

10 jobs for over 350 applications! All being well she will get one in either Leeds, Manchester (2), Newcastle (2), Birmingham, Coventry, Shrewsbury, Salisbury or Southampton! Preparing for another move in September!

Still not heard back from my interview though!
