The Things You Are HAPPY About Thread.

I love learning new stuff even as an adult. It doesn't really matter what the subject is either. I regularly listen to podcasts in the car to and from work.

Yesterday at work, one of the vending machine girls tripped over and hurt her ribs and had pain breathing and had to be taken to hospital. I was talking to the lads at work about it and mentioned about the "intercostal muscles being very painful if you bruise them as they move all the time through breathing", and for some reason that got the piss taken out of me purely for knowing what the muscles were called! "why would anyone know the actual names of them?" was the response I got.

A lot of people simply think education and knowledge is to be ridiculed just because they're thick as shit.

Definitely the pettiness coming out in me here, but at work, we are in the last week of a 4 week training phase, and I have a trainee who did not apply herself at all, sat around in class, didn't want to participate in practical exercises etc, even told me during a 1 2 1 that she finds training 'boring'.

They have just taken their final exam in order to be certified by Google, and she has failed by 2%. Now normally we can make an exception if we feel someone made a great effort but failed by a small margin due to nerves etc, and this is what she has just asked me, but being completely honest and transparent, her performance overall does not merit an exception and so she will be exited.

sad as it is, I feel its a nice kind of karmic justice for her shitty attitude and effort.

correct decision DDW, she has to wake up and understand you have to fight a bit in life to achieve success..

Wine club time in darkest Lincolnshire.

Might sound a bit of a saft question but what's 'wine club '? Is it just a get together where everyone drinks wine, or is it more of a 'sampling ' of different wines?

It's a meeting every other Saturday in the South Bank at about 3.25

Ostensibly a meeting to taste different wines and talk pretentiously about the aroma & 'hints of blackberry' - reality is an excuse to get pissed

Just booked for me and Mrs. Trips to go out to New York in February as an anniversary present. She's been before and loved it, and has nagged (asked) for me to go with her for years. Can't wait to jet out, especially as we're leaving the kids behind

New York is awesome. Although it'll be bloody cold in February.

Yeah thought that but already got Franice booked for August and Ibiza for May so wanted something in the middle. Plus I need to use my holiday time up by end of February and had nothing else planned apart from Xmas

My God we were loud, I need an ear trumpet now :)

And PLF, the only reason I agreed was to have a go before arthritis sets in :)

What are those Marshalls? JCM 900s? DSLs? TSLs? Too many knobs for a JCM800 and not enough for a JVM.
