The Things You Are HAPPY About Thread.

Nice, are you meant to have one then ha?

BTW got one of those boxes you linked me too. Nice one.

Not sure where my subbuteo is, however my Astro Wars console is still dear to me, even though the adaptor doesn't seem to work for it, which is a shame.
Desperate to source an adaptor/plug for it so I can play it.

Have you tried Maplins? They do electrical stuff, and sell various adapters

Nope, normally it's in august.

Bit of a kicker to be honest as I was planning on leaving soon :)

Manchester. Sat in one of my old haunts (The Lass O'Gowrie) with a pint.

I love coming back here.

Love that pub.

Used to be my regular Thursday night out in the Lass thirty odd years ago.

Edit: Just had a look at what it's like now, seems like it's changed a bit since my day.

I used to pop in there when I visited relations in Manchester, though that was before its temporary closure a few years back. I have always wondered how the pub came to be given its name?

Yes I believe it is. I just wondered how a pub in Manchester came to be named after it.

When in doubt...Google it
The Lass 'O' Gowrie pub occupies a site on Charles Street beside the bridge that carries the street over the River Medlock and between the street and the railway viaduct. This area was once one of the poorest in the city which, based upon the origin of many of its residents, was known as "Little Ireland". The pub website says of its history: "Legend has it that the original landlord of the pub was not an Irishman, but a proud, homesick Scotsman who named the pub in honour of his favourite poem - 'the Lass O'Gowrie' written by the celebrated Scottish poet Lady Carolina Nairne."

Paying for 2 sausages and actually getting 3, go me.

Here we go again with me living vicariously through my step-son...

It was the annual Presentation Night at Air Cadets tonight and the first order of the awards was the Promotions and the first one was Alfie being promoted to Corpral... Towards the end of the evening is the main award, "Cadet of the Year" and for all of his achievements over the last twelve months Alfie and his best mate won it! They both have worked so hard and always volunteer for everything! So bloody proud of all he's done and he is delighted too
