Bloody hate gardening, probably because I'm so crap at it. But had a decent crack at it this weekend.
Our back garden is small and very child unfriendly so I've started trying to get it in to shape for the summer. The whole yard is covered with stones/gravel, and there is a pond in the corner that's not fenced off. It was full (and I mean FULL) of pond weed and vegetation, and it stank.
Anyway, the plan was to get rid off all that crap, empty the pond with a bucket then fill it up with some of the stones from the yard. Get rid of the rest of the stones on freecycle/TWFBay and lay some turf. Oh and there's loads of mature plants and ivy that need taming too, but that can wait.
Progress made so far:
Pond emptied (including two frogs that are now living in a bucket), water removed, pond lining slashed and stabbed to drain rain water away.
Almost filled with stones from about 1/4 of the yard (forgive the washing line!).
Still loads to do, but I'm glad I've made a start as that's the first and biggest hurdle a lot of the time.
