The things that I really, really like thread...

Probably one of the most surreal experiences I'll have in my working career today. I can't imagine I'll have one of the country's richest people speculatively call our office to ask for advice about listed buildings again any time soon!

used this on my return journey from Old Trafford cricket ground last night with a coach load of India fans. Was worth wasting the data and losing my tip on the hour drive.

Students I work with graduating today. I don't usually go, but when I arrived this morning a colleague told me a couple of students had asked if I'd be there. I went to see the photos taken.

Really glad I went tbh. Walked round in lovely weather with a stupid but happy smile on my face. Loads of people who when I saw them wondered if they'd complete have achieved (and many have achieved well). These were 1st years when I started, so have seen them all the way through.

Brings a bit of worthwhile-ness to the job.

A house full of Brits on an England Matchday. Happy days :)

C'MON ENGLAND. 10 o clock KO here, is it too early for a beer?! :)

I'm no expert, but it's never too early for a beer.

Where were the photos taken? It used to be the old library steps for larger classes, whilst smaller ones went somewhere else (we had ours done on the steps to the Howarth building).

In front of the law buildings, next to old joe.
the old library has gone now, and they're currently "remodelling" (aka wasting a shedload of cash for little obvious difference) the grassed area in front and where the library was.

Isn't it ironic, don't ya think, that all your associates at work, both like and admire you, whereas on here..........................

Great. I bet Muirhead Tower still has scaffolding around it too...

Today. Time with friends, England win a World Cup quarter final and I drink lots of good ale and meet up with my better half who offers to buy me a Chinese takeaway!

Message from sister at the Match tonight;

' I've just had this random bloke come up to me and ask if I was Sues sister '

Sister, meet Quirky! :icon_lol:
