I like Red Leicester and Cathedral City. I don't really like strong cheeses other than a tiny bit on a cracker at Christmas. They make the roof of my mouth tingle and itch!
I like all cheeses, soft, hard, mild, strong, extra strong, well matured! rubbery, spreadable, goats, blue. It's the one food I couldn't give up. From on a sandwich, to a cheese sauce, on fish, on veg, as a topping, a pie, in mash, on a cracker, on toast, and cheese flavoured crisps. cheese dips, Mac & Cheese...the list is just endless. My Dr says I shouldn't be eating it, well I've cut it down a lot, but I can't cut it out altogether.
Favorite is a local one - Blue Viney, bit like Stilton but better
Not tried that one Parkin, is it creamier than a Stilton?
Another specialty in the West Country is 'Stinking Bishop' cheese - as you can see we really entice with how we name them
I forgot Dairylea cheese triangles. Nice on their own or especially spread on toast.
The carrot cake my wife made me for my birthday. It's amazing. I'm the only one that likes carrot cake too so I have to eat the whole thing!
Obviously my assessment of her baking skills is 100% biased but I would recommend anyone entering to win a cake jar off her Facebook page (the 'cakes' link in my signature below).
