The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

Who’s signing him for £50m though? I know he walks in to most/all other PL sides, but that’s a massive chunk of money on one player when almost every other club has other areas of their squads that they need to improve. I suspect we’ll get another year out of him before he eventually goes.

It all seems very Ruben Neves at the moment when multiple people kept harping on that we’d sell him every single window & he ended up staying far longer than most thought.

With Cunha, Semedo & Sarabia almost certainly out the door, we already need to sign three first team players just to replace them. Even Hobbs/Shi aren’t stupid enough to then sell Andre/Gomes and possibly RAN on top of that. It would be too much turnover in one window.

Never thought I’d be the voice of reason on this!

I think we’ll get another season out of Andre. It’s Joao I think we lose as he’s proven himself two seasons running and is only going to keep improving.

I’m not sure who buys Ait-Nouri (maybe City but I guess if they still want a left back) but I can see him wanting to go.

And as Dan has listed, you’ve then got plenty of shit to try and get rid of. Be less turnover than we want/expect but still be quite a bit of work to do

In terms of the squad itself, I think we’re not far off in defence. Yerson, Agbadou, Toti, Doc, Santi as CB options. Hugo B & Rodrigo at LWB (with the RAN situation to play out). We’ll have to sign another RWB it Nels goes, with Lima as the understudy.

Midfield looks ok if we don’t sell Andre or Joao. I think they might look to add another DM similar to the players we were linked to in Jan.

JSL will be our main CF option again - so the money will be spent in those wide attacking areas & that’s where the most work needs to be done.

I do hope that we shift a lot of the shit, as per Dan’s list, but you can only sell what people want.

The big reservation I have which has set alarm bells ringing already, is the link to Michael Keane. We don’t need him & he’s not good enough - so hopefully that was just rubbish paper chat.

I wonder what happens to Doyle as he's clearly not suited to this system and at 23 will be wanting more game time than he's ever likely to get here. There was talk about Vítor training him up as a forward player but I can't see that working.

If we're in a good position in terms of home grown players I wouldn't be surprised to see him leave.

Go down - keep
Stay up - Will move for a small profit to Sheff Utd or Sunderland.

Ait-Nouri wouldn’t get in Ciry’s third team on this season’s performances.

Seems to be a lot of expectation on Mosquera for next season. I like him and he's done pretty well in the small amount we've seen him, obviously had good loan spells but he's had 2 bad injuries now, hopefully he's young enough to get back to form.

Being behind Matt Doherty and Santi Bueno in the pecking order won't exactly enhance ones reputation tbf.

I'm hoping we get mathematically safe as soon as, then maybe Vitor will experiment more with Djiga, Rodrigo and Lima.

At least 2 of them look to be very good players and writing off Djiga is utter horesehit
Don't think anyone has written off Djiga yet have they? People are just questioning why Vitor isn't picking him over Doc. Personally I just think Pereira is being pragmatic and going with what for the most part have been positive results with what he's got.

Can only see Cunha going to be honest. Possibly RAN but that isn't a huge loss. Just need a keeper and a couple of forwards to play off Larsen to have a good season.

Cunha, RAN & Gomes/Andre I think. Plus Semedo. We're also hopefully lose some of the chaff.

Djiga isn't behind Doherty though as Vítor wants one of the back 3 to be a full back.

Doherty doesn't really have any competition for his spot at the moment which is why he's playing almost every minute. He's doing a passable job recently but we'll need another player in that position next season as none of our other full backs are suitable to play in a back 3 really.
