The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

Another thing to consider this summer will be that these 7 will be entering the final year of their contracts.

Yerson Mosquera
Rayan Aït-Nouri
Matt Doherty
Fábio Silva
Chiquinho
Ki-Jana Hoever
Chem Campbell

Not sure if we have options to extend any of those.

if we’d signed Danso the back 3 would definitely be Danso-Agbadou-Toti, VP has already spoken about how important it is to have a left sided there. In the summer, I think we’d try to sign another on that side.

If VP thought Djiga (or Bueno) for that matter was currently a better option than Doc, he’d be playing them there. So Djiga clearly hasn’t shown enough yet to be trusted there when Doc is doing a relatively decent enough job in the short term.

If we go into the new season:

Mosquera-Agbadou-Toti (or a new left sided defender) I’d be fairly content. Just the rest of the team to sort out…

Like a lot of players, Mosquera seems to have got better the longer he hasn’t played football.

Looked ok in the brief moments we’ve seen him but certainly didn’t look any better than anything else we’ve got here.
Don't agree with that, I thought he was really growing into the role and was looking good until Rogers did him.

I think the signing would be viewed much less philosophically if we were closer to the bottom three.

For £10m you'd want him to be a strong option for us sooner rather than later, hopefully he's just a slow starter and comes good
like sam johnstone?

I'm not sure that's a helpful counter to the argument that his signing was a failure...

I'd be surprised if we spent £10m on someone in that window with the expectation that he'd be on the bench for half a year and maybe in contention in the Summer. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against it as a strategy, but we were desperate and in a relegation fight, so I just can't see it. It might work out, I've never seen the kid kick a ball, and the settling in period may help him out.

There’s only the top two in that list that I’d be interested in offering an extension to. I’d take whatever I could for the others this summer, probably enough to buy the leg of a half decent replacement.

Football is weird. You thought we put in a good performance on Saturday. I thought it was fairly abject in large parts, but at least with a positive end result.

You don’t think Yerson looked up to much. I thought he was showing the traits of becoming an absolute Rolls Royce of a defender.

Spose the difference of views is why we love the sport!

Not sure about that. I don't think Doc is doing badly (I'm up there with EP as one of his biggest TWF defenders over the years), but seems a bit of a frivolous way to spend a decent chunk of our budget when we've all been shitting it about going down for most of the season. I'd have thought the January signings were intended to make a difference to keep us up.

Weird how everyone is chill about a £10m punt (if that's what we're saying), when last week people were losing their minds about Munetsi costing £6m more
Since signing Fabio and how that’s unfolded I’m pretty chill about a 10m punt tbf 😛

BBC gossip page suggesting we might be interested in re-signing Jota this summer. Presumably this would be as a Cunha replacement, and popular with a large section of our fans.
Obviously he is infinitely superior to Hwang and Guedes, but even if he wanted to return (I can't see it), is he the best option out there? On his day he was unstoppable, but he blew hot and cold too much for me. Of course a cold Jota would most likely still be preferable to whoever we do get (and why would he want to come here?).

Yeah I saw something the other day about that, it also said Jota's preference was to play for a club in the Champions League - which somewhat rules Wolves out as Jeff Shi has made it perfectly clear to us all that is not what Wolves are about anymore.

Depending on the fee, I'd take him (a bit of a risk re his recent injuries) but it won't happen.

Jota is constantly injured for one thing .

He's not going to come here anyway one would think .

Maybe Jeff wants to sign him for the e-sports side...we would spend £140k a week on that

I think you all need to encapsulate the spirit of the wolf and just believe a bit more.

Not a chance we sign Jota. He's far better and bigger than us now.

I note Neto hasn't been injured this season now his game management is better.
