Well, an Ajax player not being signed by Ten Haag at United does at least have novelty value
 
I wondered why I'd never heard of him given his background. Wiki tells me he was Carlos Borges and now it makes sense

Do we know what Liverpool value him at? No snark, I genuinely haven’t a clue.
 
Joe Gomez would seem an ideal player for us.

But he'd want to be guaranteed starting regularly, probably on big wages, and would cost too much to buy outright.
 
Just had a look at Forbs highlights. Seems very average and another Bellegarde type player. Not convinced and they're his best bits.

You hope you are buying the City kid, not the Ajax one, but I agree it's a risk and them selling him in the first place so young is a red flag, given his reputation as a kid
