the reality is England played well but just had ten minutes of madness which cost them the game.
A lot of people are talking on social media as if England have been bombed out the World Cup already, very nieve to rule England out at Twickenham.

Indeed if they can regroup (and it is a big if) they will have their backs to the wall and so will come out all guns blazing,
Also no guarantee that a battered, mentally drained after tonight and depleted Wales will beat Fiji in 4 days time, stranger things have happened in this world cup.

England will come out fighting whether that'll be enough to win is another matter.
As was said in commentary if you concede 11 penalties you'll struggle to win matches at this level.

Lancaster throws his captain under the bus for the penalty call, reading one of the rugby forums this morning seems Ford said to Robshaw that they should take the line-out and he said go on then!
Don't know who will get the blame for throwing to No 2 in the lineout by far the easiest to defend.

In the cold light of day, I still believe that a lack of discipline cost England the game. Far too many penalties conceded. Though full credit to Wales for hanging on in there when England looked like putting the game beyond them.

Getting repeatedly pinged for the same offence was daft. The ref was obviously having none of it so to keep doing it was gifting Wales points that they needed to stay in touch.

Robshaw is being blamed by Lancaster and the quotes from Farrell don't exactly help his cause. I suspect England will be changing captain after the tournament unless there is a big change in their fortunes.

I have said before that the best way to describe England under Lancaster is sloppy, it costs them 6N year after year, and the penalty count is a symptom of this.

They are quite happy to have a premeditated plan to stick Ford on for Burgess after 60mins regardless how the game is going but they never had a plan of what to do in the final scenario, either before the game or get a message onto the pitch in the final 10 mins.

On a side note, as normal this morning I checked the bets I put on Friday evening (dont look at them on the saturday) and found I had more in my account then I expected, after a bit of investigation it seems after going out Friday night I went on the internet (dangerous I know)and at 3.18am put £20 on Wales at 3-1 to win, so hey every cloud has a silver lining...

I am sure thats no comfort to most on here...

I have yet to discover if I have subscribed/purchased anything expensive or dodgy during my visit...

The lineout call was naive and indicative of pretty much everything that went wrong for England last night. Their inability to play intelligently under pressure, which has been obvious for years now, has lost them another important game.

Whilst I like Robshaw I think it's pretty evident that he is a big part of the problem, and quite frankly always has been.

Lancaster has stuck with him for too long and, ultimately, that looks to have been a fatal error of judgement.

With Wales casualty list amongst the backs, would it be time Paddy for a bit of glamour to be added to the tournament?

The return of the sun-tanned one, ex Mr Church?

Don't agree at all with Warren Gatland saying Wales wanted it more, incredibly disrespectful comment to make towards the England players. Commitment wasn't the problem for the England players it was discipline.

I really hope Wales don't have to turn to Gavin Henson. His game has deteriorated massively over the last few years.

I think with injury crisis Wales have they'll take any sort of win against Fiji, wouldn't really be worried about bonus points just yet.

I agree England's discipline on the pitch let them down and the penalties kept giving Wales the chance to hang on until the mistake of not keeping the defensive line led to Wales' try. Lancaster must take his share of the blame for his poor substitution of Burgess for Ford who commenced to kick possession away time and again.
Who told Farrell he can play as a centre? I said before the game I didn't understand why Slade wasn't selected on the bench and in the end it proved to be crucial.
We now have to hope our injuries don't weaken us going into the game against Australia and that we can lift ourselves enough to win. Nothing else will do.

Aus 65-3 Uruguay

11 tries for the Aussie B team moves them to 2nd in the table and England to third.

Wales to consider citing Tom Wood for the tackle on Liam Williams.

Are they? Seems a bit OTT.

That Australia score against Uruguay is no great shock. Australia will be clear favourites to win the group I reckon. Whoever does win the group will have a better chance of getting to the final, as second place looks like leading to a game against the Boks and then probably New Zealand as the route to the final.

Scotland 10-6 down to USA as we approach half time.

And getting beat quite comfortably. The Yanks have defended pretty well. I do wonder why the Yanks don't have a world class rugby team with the pool of ex-American footballers and athletes they have. The game is different yes but the physicality and mind set are the same. So much so a lot of our pro-rugby teams train with their American counterparts for pre-season.

It's a good point, especially as there's no real second tier (at least, to the best of my very limited knowledge) or pyramid system with American Football. Either you get a contract in the NFL or you don't have anything.
