Heroic performance so far and a fair cushion now. 20 to go.

Not going to try and pretend to know why those red/yellows were the right or wrong decisions, but the concept of an initial sin bin effectively for something that is definitely a foul, followed by a review period I really like. Less interruption to the flow of the game. I also wonder about sin bins in football more generally but I don't think football without an exact time clock is ready for the concept anyway.

Enjoyable game, we look decent for the next two months ahead.

Very impressed with the England discipline, so often an issue for them, potentially more so when playing the whole match a man down, but it's Argentina that are losing it.

Thought England would lose with 15 v 15 so this has been a really nice surprise

Are these all proper penalties or the ref trying to balance out the red?

Yeah, good play by us but so bad from them. I'd be raging if we were playing like they are.

3 converted tries needed just to draw huge ask in 14 minutes.

It’s a great win for England considering the form they were in and the sending off, still miles of the best 3 in the tournament but encouraging signs.

I’m a League fan and have been watching the Super League since it’s inception, the accidental clash of heads for that’s what it was, probably wouldn’t have got a yellow let alone a red.
The yellow for the challenge in the air would certainly have been a yellow and, arguably, could have been a straight red.

I would like to reconsider my statement that England would struggle to qualify from their group...

Me to they’ll be fine now, I think the red card galvanised them and pretty much gave them only one way to go.

I’ll say that for George Ford, he can certainly kick a fucking goal.

General play was outstanding tonight too.

Got to be nailed on at #10 for the tournament now.

Fabulous display by England. That's the best defensive effort and most disciplined I ve seen us in a very long time.
People saying Argentina were poor, yes they were but that was forced by the intense pressure we put on them, ended up getting further behind and had to force the game, made mistakes.
How the fuck the 14 managed keep up that level for nearly all the game defies logic.
Let's not forget the form Argentina have been in.

Worth considering that teams practice being down to 14 far more now than they did 20 years ago. Back then red card = you lose 95%+ of the time.

Chris Jones, The fivelive rugby correspondent said that both decisions for the cards were correct too.
Fabulous result considering our recent form and being down to 14 men.

Obviously not watched it as I was asleep but that is a cracker of a result for England and should set up comfortable group qualification.

I think England’s recent disciplinary woes have come back to bite them and through no fault of their own. It seems officials are almost looking for an excuse to send an England player off.
