Yep agree, over the next 20 years our Royal family will be sidelined and turned into just another tourist attraction due to lack of interest by the next generation.

I'm a Republican, I'd phase them out after William, but it's all a bit performative these days. It's only really the principal that bothers me, the reality in terms of how it impacts my life is very limited and arguably is a positive as I've had 3 extra days holiday in the last year

As TT says at least its a couple more bank Holidays. For the day I'd pencilled in a day on my bike or hill walking, hoping the majority of folks will be in front of their TVs all day. As it happens my son and his family are visiting for the weekend so I'll be spending it with them, unless any of them want to watch it, then I'll revert to plan A, happy days.

If it was a real issue there’d be a Republican Party campaigning for abolition, much like the SNP and Brexiteers do/did. Most people that aren’t Royalists aren’t that bothered, probably because the possibility of President Boris is worse!

Of course you do have a choice not to pay any attention to the coronation at all. Strangely the Communist states around the world don't give that choice to their prisoners citizens.
