The Road To Germany 2024

International football is brutal like that innit

Beardsley, Sheringham and Heskey all got the best out of Lineker, Shearer and Owen respectively, they weren't necessarily objectively the best players around at the time but they magnified the strengths of the main man.

Common consensus would still have been in 1990 that Bryan Robson was one of England's most important players (if not the most important) but we immediately looked better when he got injured and David Platt played instead.

In 1986 it was similar. Wilkins got suspended and Robson got injured and Hoddle and Reid came in and we looked all the better for it. Shame Reid didn’t take Maradona out before he got into full flow for his second. That said Shilton should have flattened him on his first.

Pots for the Euro 2024 draw:

Pot 1: Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, England, Belgium

Pot 2: Hungary, Turkey, Romania, Denmark, Albania, Austria

Pot 3: Netherlands, Scotland, Croatia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Czech Republic

Pot 4: Italy, Serbia, Switzerland, 3 x Play-off winners

Wales absolutely robbed v Turkey, at least 2 if not 3 stonewall penalties not given then Turkey get a soft one for sligth touch & forward falls over.

England, Denmark, Netherlands, Italy would be a tough group.

As long as England are nowhere near Scotland I’ll be happy can’t be doing with the BS hype that surrounds that game.
Looks like Wales will probably have to beat Poland in the final play off to qualify if the get past the semi final.
Wouldn’t want Hungary from pot 2 either.

Also sounded like the draw got the Molineux phone taped to a chair and playing porn treatment

England will be happy with that, Scotland probably need to beat Switzerland second game in.

If we both finish top 2 in our groups we couldn't play France until the final

Not the best locations for games Gelsenkirchen, Frankfurt and koln

Köln is lovely

I've not been to Gelsenkirchen but it's so close to a lot of good places that it needn't be an issue if it is rubbish

I hate Frankfurt, especially their stupid airport
