The R.I.P. Thread

I like the idea that Penk thinks that they've announced the death of a pink hippo puppet.

Geoffrey was the human. George was the pink one, Bungle was the big bear, Zippy had the mouth with the zip.

Charles aznavour aged 94 has died today.

Penk, just so you know he was a French singer, probably best known for the song she, just in case you thought he was a blue bear or something.

Carlos Ezquerra. Co-founder of Judge Dredd. One of the best artists in 2000AD. His work was instantly recognisable

That's sad news. I recently watched the documentary on 2000AD and its quite amazing how revered he was/ is by other artists.

Love me a bit of Ezquerra work. Also did Nemesis the Warlock.

Second only to Brian Bolland in my list of favourite artists of Dredd.

Ray Galton one half of the team that gave us steptoe and son aged 82

Scott Wilson, at the age of 76. The actor was best known for playing Hershel in The Walking Dead.

I'm not sure the alternative worked out much better.

Interesting read that DW.

Bearing mind I was 1 at the time, so I'm working off second and third hand information...

Putting us into admin left us open for shysters like the Bhattis to come in. If you own a club and you want to get rid of it, then some chancers come along and bid, you can always say no even if they've met your asking price if you don't like them. If the club is in administration or receivership, essentially the highest bid wins by default (unless you are Ken Bates who was definitely not buying the club off Ken Bates).

If we didn't need to go into admin - and again, I can't be sure whether we did or didn't - then Ellis was complicit in everything that happened after 1982.
