Was a big grunge fan in the 90's but for some reason I never really got into Soundgarden apart from Badmotorfinger. Still very sad news though, he was such a talented singer.

Felt like crying when I heard the news. Soundgarden are in my top 3 bands ever. Saw Cornell live on solo tour and with Soundgarden and he was outstanding. One of the best voices and a great songwriter. What a loss this is. Soundgarden were on tour and also writing a new album.

Yeah, I'm the same. Never quite connected with me in the same way as Mudhoney and Nirvana. Similar with Pearl Jam. They were still a big part of my early '90s musical landscape though. Awful news

Saw soundgarden at the civic days after cobain topped himself. Tad were the support, and you could tell cornell was really affected by the news. Kickstand really rocked as I recall.
Badmotorfinger is their best album imo. Superunknown has great songs on too, but as a whole, it's predecessor works better.
Real shock.
