Another bad day on this thread, but the reality of life is that the older one gets the worse each year will become for people who were influential during our life leaving us.

Those who influenced us were nearly always of a similar age to us or older so not surprising that this happens - I very much doubt that many who have gone this year had that much resonance with today's 17/18 yr olds.

I was wondering why there's a lotus esprit and crystal tips off the kids programme

Well, exactly! Thanks, Keef. (Still think it looks more like him than GM, though.)

Why is Admiral Akbar on that picture?

Debbie Reynolds dies now. Losing Carrie must have been the catalyst. What a sad couple of days for there family... R.I.P

Carries daughter must be devastated, to lose two family members in two days !

Debbie Reynolds, the best sing & dance woman I've ever seen.

From Singing in the Rain to The Unsinkable Molly Brown. She starred in How the West was Won and recently in Will & Grace.

Mother to Carrie Fisher, when she had a stroke apparently just gave up fighting saying she wanted to be with her daughter. Very sad.

R.I.P.

I have felt that first hand. My auntie died and my nan just gave up the will to live. The following few months were horrible.

Peter 'where do you go to my lovely' sarsedt dies aged 75
